After watching the digital rev "hands on" video of the x-pro-1, I am sticking with my leica m8. Autofocus - bah!, (i didn't see any zone focusing marks on the lenses - so unsure if you can do that on the x-pro-1 lenses).

But your decision is best for you as the XP1 is an AF camera.

AF is quite good. It's not DSLR fast, but neither then is an M8. What makes the X-Pro1 is the sensor, which makes the M8 sensor look like a 6 year old CCD. Oh, yeah. It is. 🙂
ISO 25600 looks better than the M8 at 640. Actually, that's being kind...
A lot of myths perpetuated by non-users regarding these Fujis.
Every second comment on them is like this... sigh...
I choose an M8 today as well. Figured that I can always sell it for a similar price, whereas the XP1 will lose at least 1/4 of it's initial value the moment I leave the shop.
And if lots of M8 owners do the same, the M8 prices should also dip a little as more are on the market.
But not really... and that's my problem with this camera. AF isn't really all that great. I understood it's sluggish and misses focus too often.
Well, the M8 is already selling for 35-40% of its original price. It's harder to go down quickly for a M8 than for a new camera of course. The true test will be if the Fuji's sell at anywhere near 35-40% of there original prices in 5-6 years.
