I was about to post this same question before I saw yours. Except with X-t1. I am leaning towards A7 simply because I would always have a niggling curiosity of what it would be like without the need for metabones. Not an easy decision because I prefer the Fuji brand, and I think the X cameras are more mature.
I've been thinking about the xt1 as well. I've pretty much put the a7 out of my head. At this point, I think I would rather have a workable evf then full frame. The only thing that is holding me back is that I know that sticking with Fuji is basically throwing money away. The business policy that I set upon myself is that I can only buy a (digital) body if sell a (digital) body. And we all know that the xt1 is going to be worth half it's current value in less then a year. This fact kills me. But I'm so sick of ****ty evfs. My eyes have been getting exponentially worse in the past couple of years, and all the talk of the xt1's evf is really alluring. I'm looking forward to more really world reviews as people start getting the camera in-hand...
In regards to the metabones adapter, I'm quite happy with it and don't mind using it. With most of my nikon glass they give me near identical results as they did on my ff nikon bodies. My only regret with aps-c is that I can't use my m-mount glass to their fullest extent.

True, I should probably wait a year before considering either the a7 or x-t1. But like you, I am aching to get rid of my massive dslr. Which funny enough, was never a problem before I recently started with rangefinders... I'm sure if I had x-e1 and metabones in hand I would't even here but I can't take my eyes away from the new toys.
I never go for the dslr any more. It's usually the m6. I'm starting to miss shooting digital.
Question for you - have you compared your x-e1 evf to the a7? a7 was the first i've ever tried (in store). It was adequate but I have zero frame of reference to other evfs. All the reviews just say it's "great!"

Ive played with the A7 a couple of times. Once with the kit zoom and another with a 50/1.4 Summilux ASPH, the EVF was nice, hell of a lot better then anything Ive experience with Fuji, but nothing spectacular. Other than the lack of lag, I didnt notice any difference in resolution or size.
I will say that the A7 felt really REALLY nice in the hand. Very solid and the size was perfect. Need to touch the X-T1 before I make any final decisions

Cool, thanks. Now, would you like to buy a massive dslr from me?

Sony, full frame for me. Look at the a6000 and you will see the future of the E mounts.

What does the a6000 have to do with full frame?

I'd bet the awesome AF tech in the a6000 makes its way into the followup to the A7.

I guess that would be nice? I'm not up on AF tech.

The a6000 and the A7 have very similar AF systems except for the number of PD points.
I'll finish the DP review for you: "The AF of the A6000 is better than any previous mirrorless camera, but tracking moving objects is still below the capabilities of the better DSLRs."
And here's what Sony will say: "World's Fastest Autofocus!" Because by law, every new mid- to high-end mirrorless camera has to say that. I guess someday it might actually be true.
