The thing I really like about this new camera system is the three primes available at launch. None of this 18-55/3.5-5.6 stuff.

A 28/2 equivalent? That's not 2.8, but 2.0....bravo! Ditto for the fast fifty...

Superfast AF is the most important thing, or a extremely supergreat way of manual focus of course 😉 I would not cry if the batterylife is improved, or at least double that of the X100.

This could be the best selling interchangeble lens camera in the history of digital cameras!

Looking quite like the Hexar situation a dozen+ years ago -- when the RF was introduced it was with 28, 50 and 90 (already a fine Hexar AF with fixed 35f2) but soon enough there was a 35f2 in the system.

btw I have confidence in the Fujinon lens line - quite apart from the panoramic 35mm and various MF anf large format lenses don't they make the current Hasselblad lenses?

Usually that means just RGB pixels in a randomized pattern to avoid color Bayer noise.

Yes, and I'm VERY impressed with that manual control dial for the flash. I HATE button/menu based flash adjustment interfaces like the canon/nikon flashes. HATE.

I find the focal lengths offered a little difficult. (18mm) 27mm corrected and (35mm) 52mm corrected for crop are outside a lot of people's comfort zones.

This camera will need a true 35mm eventually IMO.

Indoors is a bit different, but in street photography, it's like 10% of crop, which most people usually does anyway on the count of framing issues...

A little disappointed at no 35/2 (if the specs are true), but I'll survive. 28/50 will work.

Somewhere I saw a rumour that is due later.

Maybe the folks at Fujifilm have been listening.

That leads to one thing only, eventually copying Leica. Maybe in cheaper body, maybe with better sensor, with less lens choice. It will be hard to beat century long designing process.
In meantime I talked to my "secret agent" at my local photo store chain and looks like Fujifilm X10 is the most returned camera lately. Not clear why.

maybe so, but some things just dont 'suit your eye'. i dont like 28 or 50, but consider 35-40mm essential for my personal enjoyment. probably doesnt make sense in a 'scientific' way, but ive always thought of photography as more of an 'art' thing...you cant really pin down why one FL suits you and another doesnt.

Well then get an X100 along your X-Pro 1, or wait for the 35, or stick a Zeiss, CV or Leica 24-25mm lens on your X-Pro 1. It's not like there's a lack of options here.

Don't get ahead of yourself... I would think it depends if you think the mechanical rangefinder method is not necessary and you are willing to deal with whatever secondary MF solution Fuji implements.

There's no such thing as a "randomized pattern".

A pattern describes a repeatable, array while random means the exact opposite.

How do you compute a rendered image if you have no idea what pixels record the photon counts for R, G or B as the R, G, B photsite geometry is unpredictable - i.e. random?
