I just watched the Live Summit and presentation of this camera (entertaining- thank you Out to Lunch for the link). I love that the designers not only make a sincere effort to stay in touch with their user-base but they also maintain the connection that strongly exists linking film cameras and film tradition. As well they integrate film as a medium and the desire for a more organic film look with digital, whether that really exists or not!
I rarely process Jpeg (these simulations), but love to play with the different simulations and providing the graphic on the back reinforces the the tradition that is a big part of the Fuji brand. If people are put off by that, they can certainly find another camera to use, or save on a new camera and continue to use their X Pro 2 (as may be the case for me).
While I often turn my screen of for it's distractions, the feel of a truly non-LCD back appeals to me and worth any hassle of dealing with the screen they have constructed here. I played with an M-D and loved the solidity of it. This one is a bit like the RD-1, a camera that I really enjoyed, where I can choose to open and make use of it.
All this said, I won't really know how I feel until I try it.
