yup done that, not quite sure where the fun comes in though!. The meter does not calibrate to the E for empty, falling some way short fo the ideal, as we all do

Its only fun if you get the satisfaction of it working!
Try to calibrate another dial to see if its the dial itself . My favorite dial to calibrate is the remaining shot dial. Try that one even if it doesn't need it . Just change it to something else then change it back if needed. This will prove if you are doing the procedure right or not.

I believe others have found that sometimes you have to keep repeating the calibration procedure. After each run a dial will reset nearer to its correct position until after several attempts it's OK.
