Where the heck is the 23/1.4?!
I think it is either q4 or moved to next year. I remember they announced something on their lens road map got moved out.

Nor did I think you did. I don't think I was being rude.
I guess the forum has just been full of people getting upset that cameras are being made that don't fit their requirements (Leica X-Vario, etc). I understand M lenses are a passion here, but it seems that for every camera that comes out (that has interchangeable lenses), people are upset that it does not work the way they want with their third party lenses.
How can someone get upset at a company, that isn't Leica, for making a body that accepts their lenses. To me, with all the mirrorless cameras out that accept m lenses, we should feel lucky. A few years ago, you bought M8/M9 or a Epson and there were no other options. No camera is perfect. Not even in film...and there is a long history there.
I thought I detected a note of hostility, and if none was intended, then I certainly apologize.
I agree with you 100 percent about the forum seeing a lot of people get upset at companies who don't produce cameras that fit their particular requirements.
It's a waste of energy. In the end, those companies have to exercise their best judgment about what's right for their customers and their shareholders.
That said, I've also seen people take criticism of their favorite brands as if it were a personal insult. People should never presume that as being a commenter's intent.
Anyway - I always enjoy your stuff, jsrockit. All the best.

Looks like they didn't remove the hot shoe, so I would put a ovf on it like a cv brightline. I was thinking the 27 pancake w/ xm1 and the cv 40 brightline would make a nice combo.

Multiple colors and the kits

Looks like multiple color bodies like the xf-1 line. Two different kits and body only
- zoom kit
- double lens - zoom and 27f2.8 pancake
No mention of a pancake kit.

Some more info leaked - even the details.
http://www.fujirumors.com/full-specs-xc-16-50mm-xf-27mm/
The 27 will be out July 27 along w/ the xm1, the 16-50 will be in Sept. The 27 is gonna be around 460 and the zoom under 410 is what they are predicting. I was originally expecting the 27 to come in at around high 500 give the cost of the other lenses. Looks like te 27 is gonna be the kit lens for the xm1 given they are shipping the same time.

Seems a little steep for the pancake without an aperture ring. Hopefully that means it is great quality.
So that would make the new camera and this lens be a $1000 combo. Something doesn't seem right here.

not exactly entry level pricing, i don't think...
i was hoping the 27 would be around $399...

The 27 retained the xf designation but the zoom is designated as a xc and is cheaper. I would hope tat would mean it is the same quality as the prior xf designated lenses. The body is around 200 cheaper then the xe1. But I agree w/ u that it should be cheaper. When I saw that price, I was thinking it should be more in the mid 600 range to attract the entry level. I wonder what the kit price w/ be for xm1 and 27.
The Bayer sensor version that was originally part of rumor... So far no mention. Did they decide to pull it? That was rumored to be under the magical 600 price point when all these rumors started.
Tomorrow can't come soon enough.

i too am looking forward to the 'official' release of info...not sure how beneficial these rumours are really...

I agree, but it is still the cheapest body and lens combo I guess.

There tend to be big gaps between Japanese MSRP vs "street prices" at B&H.
That said, Fuji has a history of pricing their lenses high at the time of their release to encourage consumers to buy kits with a camera body, then dropping prices later or offering big discounts.

Most camera companies do this though. Nikon and Canon especially. But they tend to keep their price high and offer big discounts usually..

Csc sales make up 2% of all sales, that includes Olympus, Panasonic, Sony, Ricoh/Pentax and Fuji. This surprised me, I thought it should much higher than that.
Getting more people at the entry level makes a lot of sense. The current price point if it holds though, I don't think is going to do it though.... The cameras like the Nikon d3100/3200 kind of set the goal for the entry level that the average person is going to be comparing against.
At the end of the day even though the xm1 is not for me, I am rooting that they make a lot of money in their entry level cameras..better for all of us that like their lenses and other camera bodies.

i think most people still see the dslr as a real camera, a good camera, a pro camera...i know some of my friends have a hard time understanding why i don't have a dslr if i'm so serious about photography.

Bingo. Nobody at my work (a very mainstream crowd) gives mirrorless any respect. They all assume the DSLR is the only Pro camera. My boss saw my Ricoh GR (APS-C compact) and couldn't believe I would use that or that it could give comparible results to a DSLR.

Some of it is following the crowd as well... About 7 months ago, a co-worker was looking at a better camera for his wife (kids do soccer, gymnastics and swim team). Showed him a bunch of stuff from my old Nikon dslr, to omd to Fuji xp1... U know what it ended up, a Nikon d5100 because his wife's boss had a Nikon dslr and she figured if it was good enough for her boss, it was good enough for her. My friend was trying to talk her into the omd after I showed him all the stuff available. It turns out a lot of the other parents had dslr, either Nikon or Canon, so she did not want to be different then the other parents.
Btw u did show him some great results.. W/ the Ricoh to change his opinion, right?

Nope. I don't really show my photos to work people. They already think I'm weird enough, so I don't want to give them more ammo.
