GAS victim...

Aren't they the ones selling a Noctilux prototype for 32,000 euros? I remember having seen the sale first on the -bay, then on their site.

BTW, the body prices for Leicas are really low at KEH. There's a Leica M3 for a little over $300

Of course there is: I'm not ready to buy just yet:bang:
I need to educate myself better anyway(what version and which dealer) and so that will make the time pass a little quicker while I'm saving for one.
Congrats on the lens!

My 'lux is "out for delivery" according to the UPS tracking site. And I'm here at work again! 😱

Gotta run back at 1 PM. Besides, there's some class management updates to do, and I work better at home than at my office. 😉

Hmm, isn't that a M1 ? (rangefinderless M).

Some bargain M3 for a bit over $400 though, maybe M prices are coming down to Earth finally ? If so, that's real welcome.

Congrats, Francisco! You'll love the Aspherical. It's not really any bigger than your Hexanon, and the extra stop is very much useable.

It's pretty snappy in broad daylight, too!

Well... just an hour ago, the UPS man came in a left the box on the step. And here I was, thinking I had to sign for it!

In any case, the eagle has landed... 🙂

Funny to see how little it takes to make us, gearheads, happy...

BTW, I think the files are a bit on the large side. 🙁 I didn't have time to compress them enough.

Kevin, you're right, it's not bigger than the Hexanon.

One comment for those interested on these lenses: dreamsandart is right. The focusing ring is stiff, but I trust it'll get smoother with time (and I'm planning on using it). The hood is a bit weird, with a large rotating piece that looks a little unbecoming, but keeps it in place and well aligned. The cap, however, isn't soft, but rather stiff and fairly sturdy. You slide it up to remove it (hard to explain without showing it).

Sorry, gotta go and try this baby under the dimming lights out there! 🙂

The ring on my Lux was stiff too. With practice it loosened a lot although it is not as smooth as the non-Asph. lenses.

Congratulations Francisco, enjoy the light!

I have a black one and the focusing ring is like butta. Luckily the aperture ring doesn't spin around in the wind either on mine. 🙂 I've noticed that on a sample of three (24/2.8 ASPH, 35/1.4 ASPH, current 50/2.8) that the focus rings on the silver and black lenses feel different. The silver ones are not stiffer, that's the wrong word, but they feel as though they are more heavily damped than the black ones. Personally I prefer the feel of the black ones.

My black Elmarit has a buttery focus ring, and a very easy (too easy) aperture ring. The Hexanon is a marvel to focus (really glides), but the apertures are a little tough compared to my Summicron 50's, which is the best of them all. At least, among the short ones.

In any case, this relative stiffness in the focusing is welcome. With my other lenses, I easily lose focus when I move the aperture. Not with this one! 🙂
