Thanks for the posting. I've always liked Ilford films and I've been pulling for them to survive. I've been thinking about shooting some Ilford Pan-F in my SLR so this is good news indeed.

Yeah bummer is this IMO:
I use Ilford for printing and film
These are all estimates!!??...RC papers 3%, fiber paper 19%, sheet film 20%, FP4/HP5 15%, Delta films 10%, ID11 and Microphen 50-90%, liquid developers 50-150%. Accessories (MG filter sets, antistatic clothes and the such) 100-150%.

I went into my local photo store only last week and wanted to try a roll of Fuji Acros 100. On asking I was told they had none in stock and all they could offer me was Ilford FP4. That is the only B&W film they had in stock! And only about 6 rolls in total. I'd like to think that they had had a rush on film but I know different. Bearing in mind this is the only proper 'photo' store in town there is little in the way of 'proper' photo stuff. Quite a few digicams of course.

The pro shop across the street from my office reports that they are having all kinds of problems getting any Ilford products in stock.

Ok resent the email...
I'll add my best wishes to Gene's; I too have long liked Ilford films and papers and hope they survive. I particularly like XP2, FP4, and Pan F, and have "stocked up" somewhat given the recent situation.
Ilford's prices have been modest, so an increase is understandable. Discontinuing products is unfortunate, but for example I've only used Perceptol developer for Verichrome Pan which is now gone as well anyway. I only have one more roll in the fridge, and I souped the previous roll in Diafine.

That is great news, thanks for sharing. I'm really starting to like DDX liquid. Really enjoying there papers and films a lot more now that my darkroom skills are improving too. The cost increase stinks but as long as they stick around that's OK, I'll pay it. For those cutting costs or wanting some paper for test prints, Mitsubishi makes a Gekko line of papers that are really cheap. I've used them they're OK.

I also have liked Ilford products for many years and will be glad to have them stick around. I haven't shot a roll of Verichrome Pan in years but I always liked it. Kodak has dropped some very good B&W roll films. A medium format shot on Pan-X could be blown up to fantastic sizes.
