I'm a huge fan of gordys straps. I have a wrist strap for my M2 and love it. Perfectly broken in its great to have that extra security. However I'm doing a lot more carrying around and using the strap isnt fun when walking with someone, nor is it all that great for long walks or when you have to use your hands to do things.

Ive been doing more "one camera, one lens" exploring recently so I'm thinking of getting a longer strap I can sling over my shoulder.

Im speaking about this in specific, http://www.gordyscamerastraps.com/neck-vert/index.htm

I really like gordy's product so I would love to get another strap from him. I want something a little different. I like the idea of the vertical mounts. Is there anyone out there who has tried or has this type of strap on their Leica M or LTM?

Im mainly looking for opinions on:

ergonomics, will the strap get in my way?

How does hanging your M from its tripod socket sound to you? Is there a chance that the baseplate could flex or fatigue over time causing a drop or light leaks?

Also low profile screw or thumb screw? Does the fact that you likely wont be able to put the camera flat on a table anymore bother you? I would guess the camera would have to lay flat on its back from then on...

Hope to get some info, because there is very little out there about this style of strap.

Well, you hit on the reasons I didn't get it. That and I tend to use a strap ac cross my body and this seems suited to one shoulder wear.
I think the base would be less concern than the lug.

I really do like the look of the strap. I am a one armed sling type guy, though I dont see a problem if you wanted to sling it all the way over your body.

I may contact Gordy and request to do an in depth review which I will post up. There seems to be very little info out there on this particular strap.
