I'm quite happy with my new to me Hexar RF camera (KevinM), CV35f2.5 (David Murphy) and CV50f2.5 (Clintock) lenses. Makes a potent compact kit. I could include the CV25 lens as well, but don't use it so much.
I am not a manual exposure snob, nor a Leica snob.

Good question. I'm not sure. You think I'm some kind of snob?

i thought you were ruling out what kind of snob you were not so i thought you were working towards what kind of snob you might be.

That's okay, it demonstrates lateral thinking. That's a good thing.

My kit will be my new M5, 50 summilux and cv 35/2.5
I'm looking forward to sending it off to Sherry and then putting it into action.
The combo of a 35 and a 50 can't be matched in my opinion...and I can see why other lenses may not see use.

It's nice to hear someone around here has a plan in mind. It seems that so often we amateur photographers get so caught up in acquiring more gear at the expense of sanity. I am also closing in on my final, and simple kit. My 50mm Elmar-M is currently attached to my MP and my next lens will be a 28mm of some kind. The exact type of that latter piece is still up in the air, though.

Bought a 1.25x VF mag with dcsang (thanks Dave) to make my M6 useable with a 90mm.
After I get that I'm done. Seriously.
OK, I'd like to sell the M6, a bugeyed 35mm Summaron, and my new version collapsible 50mm Elmar, and get a .85 MP, with black vulcanite and raised VF eyebrows, and an aspherical 35mm and 50mm.
Then I'll be done. Seriously.

Sounds like a nice kit, I'd love to hear some experiences with the Hexar RF, I'm keeping my eye open for one.

I'll have to ponder whether I may be a Snord...
Frank, I'd be interested to hear your impressions of the 50 Skopar, as that's been a controversial one.

i may only be deluding myself but i think i could honestly be happy with the zi and 35/2 lens.
i love the 25 and the new 50 and am happy i have a good 90 in the bag also, no doubt, but i could survive with only a 35 if i had to.

Frank, I've just joined Leica snobdom by purchasing a new M6. but I also own a much loved Hexar Rf which I never intend to sell. Comparing the 2 in hand the Hexar gives nothing away to the Leica in build quality. One thing I really love about the Hexar is its metering. It is so accurate I rarely have to use exposure compensation except for the usual suspects, beach scenes, snow etc. Also the 3 Hex. M lenses are amazing. I don't feel any great need to rush out and buy Leica glass.

Doug, I have some CV50f2.5 pics in my gallery, general folder - the abandoned swimming pool, table in grass, and cemetery. I sold this lens to raise money necessary at the time, but always planned to replace it, which I recently did. I"ll have more results soon, as it is a very compact 50mm lens and the ergonomics are great.
Alan, I agree that the Hexar RF gives nothing up to the Leica M6 in perceived build quality. It feels great in the hand. I don't doubt that the mechanical M6 will outlast it, but it will be fun to use until that time.
