Has anyone used a Zhou case on it yet?

Title pretty much sums it up. They look nice but how are they ergonomically? Any good or do they start to interfere with the way you use it? The MF/AF switch looks like it might be hard to get to.

The Zhou looked like it would not get along with my big fingers, so I purchased a red Luxecase and it is very functional and beautiful.

Love my M/Zhou, so if big fingered folks found the Zhou/X100 fully functional, I would considerate it for traveling in less than stellar environments where I might not want a red leather case screaming out. So, if you do like the case, how about describing your hand size? I suspect that small is best for the Zhou. I bet that there will be a version 2.

They are ordered directly from Luxecase and shipped from Korea. It took about a week to get the case to the U.S. You need to use the Email at the bottom of the page. I guess that case only saves around $20 (USD). I purchased the case/strap. You will then get billed via PayPal. Good process and wonderful workmanship.

Perhaps I was a bit bad in mentioning another case in this thread, but the functional consideration of how to reach all the controls drove me to purchasing this case.. oh.. and falling in love with the red case.

No worries about hijacking it! It keeps ontop of the list but still no answers on the original question! No one here has tried this yet?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the support. I have been travel a lot these months. Sorry I can't move things quickly as I wish to. But the case you were asking is now available. I made them. The photo was taking in my hotel room with my iPhone. Sorry for the quality.

Light tan color case. I use Gordy strap at the moment since I didn't get time to make the matching strap for the case.

I hope you'd like one of these.

All the best,

hi Zhou,
do i understand it correct that the case is only fixed at one
connection for hand strap - at one side only?
doesn't it go loose to easy?

Hi Reinhard,

Thanks for forwarding the url for more pictures. I notices a few issues with the cutout and I have already addressed them on new made cases. For your question about the one side press button design, I have been using the case since the case made. The case didn't loose easily.

Regards,
Zhou

Others have also mentioned that it is difficult to press some of the buttons with large fingers. I intended on buying your case, but this issue prevented the purchase. Is your new cutout arrangement designed to provide more adequate space for use of camera controls (especially AF/AE lock button on the upper right back of camera control surface)?

I too would like to know if this case can be used with larger hands. It still looks great to me and seems to be a good value. I've never had a Mr. Zhou case before but I do have one of his wrist straps and it's a little gem.

I'm searching all over for a good half-case and I really don't want to pay outrageous prices for one...

If all the buttons and switches can be easily accessed, I'm in!

Looking great. I wonder if there is a possibility of a variation with no cutout for the LCD. Since the on-screen menu can be accessed in the EVF, it would be nice to just forget about LCD and shoot with RAW and use shutter speed / aperture controls.

Ditto on this suggestion!

That does indeed look nice. Do you find any issue with blocking access to the AF switch or the Aperture / Focus ring? How about the rear buttons and LCD?

I've got fairly large hands, with long, but average width fingers. I really want to get a half-case like this and the Zhou case does appear to offer the most protection.
