Personally I won't go into a public place with the red dot showing. Just a little black tape...

the only people who know what the red dot is are photographers, who would know what it was with tape or not.

When you're using one of them red dot cameras, people who know what it is already know. You're not really hiding anything


I'd personally wanna see a gold plated K1000, or some other "people's camera"

How about just using the "other red dot camera" -- i.e. the Kodak Signet 35. Great lens and it definitely has a "people's camera" feeling as well 🙂
