Heaviest 35mm you have?

The nicest SLR (I don't have): Pentax MX... )

I know what you're talking about - my MX is pretty beat-up looking, but still going strong, and I love the size - go get one, they are quite cheap on Ebay these days (mine cost around 40 Euros, IIRC).

Umm, that should be at this moment the minolta dynax 5 (which is one of the lightest slr's in the world!)
really, since the contax IIIa is gone i have no heavy stuff at all.
The 17mm tokina lens however is a heavy beast.

Try the Canon FT and other 70's Canon stuff, collectible alone for ugliness.

Ooohh... thanks for reminding me, I forgot about the "Operational Paper Weight".

Sorry the heaviest 35mm camera I own is a Canon FP with a 55-135mm/3.5 FL Zoom lens. Although the FP body on it's own is lightish and I would not call it fat or ugly.

Stu :)

Oh, come on! Don't trash the Canon F-1! It is one of the best SLR's of all time -- completely indestructible, modular, extremely bright screens, huge range of accessories, excellent match needle metering, great lenses etc, etc.

Everyone talks about light small cameras, so I thought I'd see about the other way. What's the heaviest 35mm camera you have?

Mine is far and away my Kiev 5 - 980 grams without film and lens... Who needs a health club with that in my bag?!?

:D

Any others?

William

My Contax RTS alone is pretty heavy, but combined with the professional motordrive it's a good way to improve your biceps.

RF Body: 720g
RF 45mm lens: 235g

So its 950g + batt + 1 roll in it, so approx 1Kg, like a brick hanging on your neck.

Yes, I still am in Santa Barbara. I like Samy's new store too. I think I will drop in over there and try out that Mamiya 7II. I did not know that Calumet is also in the rental business. They are next door to the lab I use so I will make it a point to go in and ask them about their equipment rentals. Thanks for the tip.

Isn't the new Samy's great? It is amazing to have such a giant, full service photo store in such comparitively small city. In any case, do check out the M7II -- since you are a pilot, you might even be the only person to ever find the 200 mm non RF coupled lens useful!

As for your lab, it is mine too...perhaps I will bump into you at color services some time. I am actually heading there right now, if you hurry, you can catch me! Hahaha.

Heavyiest I "used" to own was the Nikon F4E, what a Brick! Dumped it for many reasons, but the F3 with MD4 comes in a close second.
Thank goodness for little-handy RF's ~ ; - )
