Can we go back to, say, 2016 and start over?
Maybe here but not in life. Let's not get into discussing politics here 😀😎😱🙂

The missing posts in this thread both came about because two members requested their posts being deleted.
Mods also have the choice of deleting posts or threads if things get too much out of hand. I agree, suspension is a better choice of words than temporary banning.
For those who asked, shorter than 30 day suspensions have not worked out well in the past. Too often they were soon back to their old tricks, resulting once again in temporary or permanent bans.
30 days seems to be long enough that almost all are never suspended or banned again.
For those wondering, moderating is an absolutely wonderful task, resulting in Mods being criticized for taking any action, ANY action.
One member will protest "That was too much!" while another member asks "Why did it take so long to ban them?".
Oh well, that is just the way forums, eh make that humans, are.

I suspect November 2020 is going to be more wild than November 2016- regardless of the outcome. But that is all I will say:

I noticed the dual TV arrangement, but I try to keep political issues out of it.

but where would forums be without politics? There's political parties within photography; look at the film users; the digital users; the B&W crowd; the poor old slide makers; the lots of megapixels group; the lots of new lenses mob; the enough is enough groups and so on.
If we weren't political animals we'd all agree, read the instruction books, support repair shops and be out taking and making pictures.
