I am genuinely worried about the effects of ASD and DSLRs ... sometimes my judgement is impaired by trying to find continuity - in this respect - years of Minolta cameras .
I bought a Sony A290 against all reviews pitting it against the much better Sony D3000 purely for the ASD comfort of using Minolta lenses specifically a 1990s 35-70 which I had used extensively and enjoyed the slides and is now my preferred 52-120 equ and has been emulated on the Pentax K10D .
I added a Sony A35 / 35 f1.8 for better quality but sometimes I struggle a bit with the EVF .
The worry is that I still seem to be stuck on DSLRs with less competence / resolution etc , as I have just bought an A390 which is identical other than the flip screen for waist level viewing which I really covet and the novel twin sensor enabling easy live view - which is a bit weird 'cos I prefer using the VF .
Admittedly , my budget for extending my system is - well - minimal , and the I assumed from E-bay photo , that body only was BIN £102 which is affordable - when I saw that the kit lens and Tamron 80-200 was included , I grabbed it .
Admittedly , my options with Sony are now very limited but I wonder if the ASD collecting ' same again ' , keeping with familiar , is kicking in again ...
The 2008 technology of these cameras may be more capable than a compact , but are so far behind any current DSLR , yet I am content using them as they are an extension of my Minolta days This seems a strange reason to buy a camera though.
