Hi everyone

I'm on a mission - I'm looking for this monster lens and just missed one the other day. I could get a 1.2 but I think I want the big one.

Anyone got a heads up on where I might get one (must be in great condition) I will have to get it converted for my M8 but I can sort that.

I've got the money but can't find one. Anyone here got one

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEESE HELP.

I know of 2 recently converted to M mount versions here in Texas. The owners might sell someday.

ps: Be prepaired to buy a Canon 7 body with the lens.

If you really don't mind spending some serious money, Kevincameras usually has one or two -- sometimes including ones already converted to M mount. I haven't checked lately as his prices tend to give me heart failure, but it might be worth a look...

Few days ago one guy was selling TV version (here in Croatia)... and I was ready to set a deal, but he decided to raise the price to 300$... that was too much for me. 🙁

I'm not sure did he sell it, probably not! 🙂

Search the Canon RF threads. One of our members lives in Korea and said he saw 2 Canon 7 bodies with 50/0.95 lenses in local shops. This was recent.

The 1.2 is probably better optically and you could go to the Gym for the muscle development...

Hi Xmas

LOL very witty, as you know I was all for the 1.2, but having just got the f2 Leica I'm sort of hooked on the 0.95.

As for the weight. I'm used to lugging around a Canon 1DS and 70-200mm L Lens so this combination is like a feather to me.

I want one now,

Not in my experience, although I'll concede that the 50/1.2 is more resistant to weird-shaped flare spots. Here's a post in which I basically reiterated my own previous comparisons that showed the 50/0.95 at f/1.2 is better than the 50/1.2 at 1.2, and somewhere there's an old thread with some comparison photos I did; didn't have time to dig it up here at work.

Caveat: I use my 50/0.95 and 50/1.2 on an Epson R-D 1; they might stack up differently on one of those old-timey fillum cameras.

Mine is mint complete with Canon 7 attached but unfortunately the shutter has ceased to function

And the 7 is with flash, instruction book, lens hood and case, uv, yellow and red filters.

Are they worth much ?

You bet they are. In fact, I'll give you a whopping FIFTY WHOLE DOLLARS for the complete setup. Just think, FIFTY SMACKERS for your old broken-down non-working camera and lens!

And I would, too, but you'd be nuts to take it, especially if you mean you've got the original Canon-branded OEM lens hood, case and filter set that were made specifically for your 50/0.95. All these are rather scarce and sought-after items.

I've just PM Wahoo to see if he wants to sell to a good home and careful owner. Kevincameras have 4 in stock, but his prices are just out of my league - he was very helpful though.

Regarding current price - It seems that about $1000 -$1200 is what they are selling privately for and those have all been desribed as mint and had the Leica Conversion.

Does anyone know how much the conversion is, and if anyone in the UK is capable of doing it.

I'm currently having one converted by SRB in Luton, UK, for about £60 (plus the price of a Voigtlander adapter). I haven't got it back yet, so can't say how successful the conversion has been. But I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Hi nf,

When you got the lens back, let us know about the result.
I already have a 0,95 in leica mount,
but before that, I bought one in regular canon mount.
but I can't find somebody in France doing the adaptation for M,
and I don't want to send mine 0,95 to the states, because the taxes.
A good address in England ,would be hepful.
Thanks
Claude

Thanks to everyone who has helped - Not quite there yet - but I'm trying to do a deal with someone. Still if it doen't go ahead I will keep looking

Thanks for all the PM's as well.

Good evening! l ( Hi Claude )

The adaptation of mounting Leica ... not difficult...
it y to have several solutions...

to order a mounting Leica de Noctilux with screwing, to dismount mounting Canon ... and to make drilling and milling by a jeweller or a workshop of micromechanics...

Monture%20TV.jpg

My mount is not Noctilux ... is TV model and mount ???

Difficult for the Canon 7 model

The look " giant " for M7

First test ... native scan... not of post treatment ! aperture f:1.4 ! exceptional
