Hey, remember the Nikon F?

I have one with a problem with the "T" setting. When I press the shutter, it opens, but when I release, the slow speed time buzzes, and then the shutter closes.

On the rest of my F's, at the "T" setting, the shutter opens, and stays open, until I turn the shutter dial, or tension the shutter.

Anyone know how to repair this?

Well, yes of course.

This is merely a matter of getting functionality 100% correct.

As with software, having a bug in an un-used module doesn't count as something to fix.

But I am curious, whether there was a simple fix.

I found and fixed the issue.

It is a spring loaded shaft that goes down to the slow speed escapement, and has popped above the cam that provides timing to the slow speed escapement.

You can get to it after taken off the top right cover (the one that covers the shutter speed selector).

Pop the shaft back under the cam and let the cam properly time the shaft, and all is good.
