ideally, i would like a "nicer" RF 50, either a Cron, f2 Heliar collapsible, or (DREAMING) an E58 Noct. The E58 Noct is the only lens, RF or SLR, that i REALLY covet.

in all, i've probably had somewhere around 50 or more 50mm's over the years. Yeah, probably over 50. EF, FD, M42, F, OM, L39.... haha way too many to count.

  • Canon 50mm f1.8 mk 2 (on permanent loan to my GF, since I prefer the mk 1)
  • Canon 50mm f2.5 Macro
  • Sigma 30mm f1.4 DX
  • Pentax-M 50mm f1.7
  • Olympus G. Zuiko Auto-S 1:1.4 f=40mm (fast 56-e for the original Pen F)
  • Mamiya Sekor 50mm (For the old Mamiya Z-series 35mm SLRs, currently taken out of its mount and in use as a slide-loupe)

The current Summicron is wonderful. I've tested Zeiss C Sonnar but not really used it yet. Will probably sell or swap the Heliar Classic as I don't like the ergonomics. The Rigid & Jupiter 3 are a couple of old farts.

The truly bizarre thing is that I have at least half a dozen Nikon F 50/1.8 and 2.0 (of every type from Non-AI to AF), even though it is among my least favourite lenses...

I think that the persons that have the most 50s should donate 1 each to those 5 persons that appear to have no 50s. It's only fair :angel:
