The used SLR market is a buyers delight. Which lens comes on the standard SLR film camera's? A 50mm f/1.7, f/1.8, or f/2.0. I am a sucker for these old cameras at yard sales and have enjoyed collecting them with their respective 50mm lenses for a song.

For my Zeiss Ikon, I have "just" 3, a ZM Planar, Jupiter-8, and a Jupiter-3. In the past, I've had a tabbed Summicron as well as a DR Summicron (which I wish I hadn't gotten rid of). For my Olympus OM-10, I have a Zuiko 1.4, and for my newly purchased Nikon FM3a, I have a 1.8 AI on it's way from KEH.

The best camera is one that still works!
I've just realised that my 50mm habit which I thought I had under control is getting out of hand again.
OM lenses have hit an all time high with a 50mm f1.2. two f1.4's an f3.5 macro and the obligatory f1.8 'lens cap!' The f3.5 macro may just be the sharpest 50mm I have ever used ... it's impressive. The long nosed 50mm f1.4 Im not so sure about, it seems kind of soft to me and no real improvement over the early version I've had for some time!

Don't make me count them, I already feel guilty enough. Probably 5 or 8? - jim

5, but four of them are for SLRs, two of which are duplicate. Maybe more on some cameras with fixed lenses, not quite sure.

five 50s for RF use; a noctilux, a pre-asph v2 summilux, a summilux asph, a zm c sonnar 50 and a summicron 50/2 DR. they rock.

Way more.
Way more.

Washing on Siegfried Line
Not too many, maybe about 3 dozen.
Then again if I add in slr lens easily more than double the above figure.
Sad Eh ?

Only one rangefinder lens, though (see signature).

Just one - Summilux pre-aspherical 35mm (= 50 m on my Leica M8)
You didn't take account of those of us who only own a crop-factor camera!
Since I only have one camera, I only need one normal-view lens, same as I have one wide angle (25mm), one short telephoto (50mm Summilux pre-asph), and one long telephoto (90mm).
Personally, I choose the lenses I like carefully (to end up with the Summilux 50mm (which I'm definitely staying with - a perfect lens), I tried and sold an Elmar 50/2.8, Jupiter 8, Canon 50/1.2 and a Summicron): once I've done that, I prefer to concentrate on the image and leave lenses out of the equation (bar focal length).
I like to predict how my equipment behaves under any circumstances, hence the reason why I only own one camera and four lenses. (Perversely, although I use a rangefinder, I mostly take still lifes and hate street photography - the M8 works well as a studio camera once you've learnt its foibles!)

Sadly, I own three 50 mm lenses:
First, an old 50 1.4 AI Nikkor that I won as part of a four-lens package at a bankruptcy auction about 30 years ago. Very nice lens, but too vanilla for me. Hasn't been on a camera in 25 years.
Second, an identical 50 1.4 with some fungus, that was included in a package I got on ebay.
I made a very nice base for it from a detergent measuring cup and a lens back cap, and turned it into a loupe that I use on my light box.
And finally, a 50mm f2 Jupiter 8 that came with my first Nikon S3 rangefinder body. This one sits in a cupboard keeping some other odd bits of photo gear company.

Just the 50/2 Jupiter for my Zorki 4. I had Pentax FA 50/1.4 which I used to like a lot but I sold all my Pentax gear recently.

I started on lenses for my EVIL GF1, so got two 50mm (fast and macro), then picked up an LTM. Also have a Panaleica 45mm & 20mm and two longer lenses. So, three total, but only one that's rangefinder friendly.
