How many 50's is enough?

Well, I don't know that they were ALL worth $800............

One or two of 'em were worth about $10,000.............

Hold one in each hand and the others evenly distributed in your pockets
I can just hear Frank, Gene et al when they meet me at the Toronto meet...

"Hi, Trius ... is that a 50 or are you just glad to see us?"

Trius, planning to wear cargo pants AND a photo vest.

Well if she's looking for something to do with those cameras, there are plenty of RFF homes waiting.... :)

Two hundred and fifty. I had to spell that out to make sure it was right.

What... the full size ones? After you buy your own train, everything else is peanuts :D

And you have lots of nooks and crannies in which to hide cameras!

250 Leicas hidden from a wife who thought he collected Steam trains. This is one of the most entertaining exchanges in recent memory :) :)

Why so many 50's ? Just get the best one you can get and move on to the other focal lenghts... Wow this RF-craze is definitely worlds apart from the DSLR craze..

If you count 55mm, 45mm, & 47mm among the "50's," I have over 60 in a variety of mounts, mostly Zeiss Ikon Contax RF & LTM. Not all of them are in shooting condition, of course . . .

Mini steam trains are neat... this is not a model railway that fits on a table, but actually working steam trains about 1/10th scale. Actually pulls passengers. I'll post a few shots I took of a local club a few months ago when I get home.

"Best" is not only about sharpness. There are nuances of "look".

And yes, I agree, the RF craze IS worlds apart from the DSLR craze! DSLR's are all about newest and greatest which is only transient. RF's are about feel and quality, where a 1960's body or lens is "better" than a modern one.

Yes! All you people only need one 50mm lens!

Why are you hoarding them???

Send them to me. I'm a Collector...

No so true. That comment can only apply to camera bodies. Good SLR lenses are timeless.

The metal ones are timeless. The "polycarbonate wonders" have a limited number of mount/dismount cycles before they wear out.

like I said... "good SLR lenses" The Canon L series, for example... not all metal ones are timeless. Only >=good SLR lenses are timeless.

I consider many classic RF bodies to be timeless. Still working well after 50 years and good for another 50 after a CLA. This is certainly not true of any DSLR body which is obsolete in 7 years.
