And my face is tingling. I'm sweating. The window is wide open, and it's no help.

KEH had it. They HAD it. Now I have it . . .nearly. A week in post, and it will be mine. This is a big day for me.

I went back to see if it had been removed after my purchase - just now - as i write this. I bought it only 2 minutes ago. It has - which just reinforces the bought-ness of it.

There is a sense of freedom. I suppose akin to what one feels the pico-second after pulling the trigger, bullet set off to finish the distance of 4 inches to the skull. The feeling of release. Like that step into cool, fresh air, having just turned in the last of your final exams, last quarter of senior year in college. And I wonder if perhaps I had only died moments before, in some freak accident of weather, or had maybe twiddled my toe into the electrical socket again under the desk.

It is real. This proves it.

It is almost like realizing I've fallen in love. I have this smile that I can't shake. Nothing else matters.

And random, maniacal fits of cackling laughter, here, alone in my room which feels ever so much smaller now. I had one of those fits shortly after recognizing that I HAD in fact, actually just bought the thing.

I expect that I might have been better off if I'd actually gone to bed when I should have. . . . it is 3:30AM and i must be up and alive at 8AM.

I want to hang onto this moment. I don't want to go to sleep because I'm afraid that I might wake into a different world, where that lens doesn't exist and my hobby is spoons or something equally . . .

you all will never hear the end of this. This is no rant. This is the inkling of the thought to inhale before the first keystroke of the rant begins.

KEH. . . .I'm speechless you guys. Nothing to say.

I did not know that KEH sold beer. Well, just goes to show.

Seriously, whatever it is, I hope it is all you desire!

I'm so glad for you. Keep enjoying the moment on buying the _________ that you have wanted so long. Those ________ are really great. I know I have wanted at ________ for a long time myself but never had the guts to actually buy a ________. Again, congratulations on your new _________. ;) :p

Congratulations on your purchase. Isn't the 100 pretty hard to find?

Btw, I know about the 'it's late what am I doing up'-thing... It's 3:45am here in San Francisco and I need to be in my car at 9am. That's in five hours. Sigh.

Probably the day I get the lens. I'll shoot some pics, develop the negs, and scan the film.

Then post.

I tested the KEH site to see if buying an item removes it from the list - which it does, immediately. So, I assume that no one bought it before me, since it was there for about two hours after I saw it, and gone immediately after i bought it.

It's 6:55 here in NC, I got up at 5:30 because the dogs needed to be let out. I have to be at the church at 9:00 to pull weeds. I hope you get some sleep!

This is a serious GAS attack!
Your report sounds like what my cousin told me about her heroine addiction.

Congratulations Shutterflower. :) I would have PM'd you if I had ever seen one. KEH's prices are pretty fair too. :) :)
The lens will amortize down to 1 cent per shot - keep shooting !!

Ah, but did you pay the equivalent of £620 (getting on for $1000) that someone paid on ebay Uk for one last weekend??!!

It's a secret. Let's just say no.

As I read the first few paragraphs, I thought ... he better not just be talking about a lens cap ;-)

Congrats George on the purchase!

I had a somewhat similar experience with B&H - I was in the market for the 100mm Macro-D Minolta lens. All of a sudden I see "buy it used", and I did so, thus saving about $130. The only thing, it wasn't in a box (except the shipping one) or have an instruction booklet (which I downloaded). Otherwise you can't tell the lens from brand new.

Never have been up for a Bronica, but I once was considering one of the old Kowa 6's. As it is I have a Yashicamat 124, and it isn't leaving my possession!

I'm calling my lawyer on Monday to remove Shutterflower from my will. My RF645 and 100mm lens will be left to my kids (if they are interested).

Congratulations Shutterflower.......

Out of curiosity, how much was it? ( My 100mm is till new, unused). As a matter of interest, a pro camera shop here in Australia just sold a mint, used once only 100mm lens for $AUD595 - about $US350 - went to some guy in France...

My price is a secret - as i said. Let's just say I'm very happy with the price. Very very happy.

Good news. That lens and that camera should never separate. I'm not into old grandfather clocks, but I'd have to keep it in the family. Or old paintaings of old explorers akin to Columbus - but I must keep those as well. The Bronica should be no different. :D

thanks for your kind consideration, Robert.

:p
