I have ended up with none for rangefinder. And I think I prefer the 50mm FOV to 35mm. How did that happen?
I really miss my very early Contax-mount Jupiter 3 - I figured it wasn't worth keeping a second system for, but I think I was wrong. I preferred it even to my long gone Summicron collapsible and Elmar M. I've been keeping an eye open for a Nikkor 50/1.4 LTM ever since, but the prices seem to be moving inexorably upwards.

Is any one else having problems getting their heads round the notion that you can have too many lenses?

Since I only use crop cameras, I don't own any 50mm lenses.

I'm giving an appreciative home to 9 Leica 50's (6 LTM, 3M ), and 3 Voigtlander Prominent 50's, with about double that total in SLR versions of various parentages.
The 50 is my favourite focal length.

Hi all,
I have a summicron DR with some fogging in some of the internal elements. So I proceeded to ask my local camera repairman to do a chemical cleaning. The result of the various elements is cleared of the fogging but the soft coating was also partially removed.
So I have two choices now,
1) Since the fogging is removed, I shall use the lens as it is and to ignore the partially removed coating which is unsightly when viewed at certain angle under light
2) To fully remove the coating on those affected lens elements
Can you guys please advise me?

1. Send the lens to Focal Point and ask for a recoating.
2. Second option is to sell the lens and get a clean one with coating.

Have you used the old version Nokton and do you like it? Why do you like it, compared to all the other lenses that you have owned?

Insufficient information
50mm LTM:
summitar
yashinon 1.8
canon 1.8
cv heliar 3.5
the yashinon may be the weakest of the bunch, but they're all fine. My favorite is probably the Heliar when f/3.5 is fast enough -- and it usually is for me.

Since my last visit to this thread I have added a 50mm 1.4 Millenium Nikkor to the list of 50mm lenses that I own and use. I also got a custom adapted J-3 50/1.5 in Nikon S mount. There is also a "new" custom adapted Cintar 50/3.5 in Contax mount.
Have you also bought another 50mm lens?

It could very well be that we will never see a time when there are too many 50mm lenses around. It is such a great focal length, and I see it continue after we all vanish.

CV f/1.1
Summicron Rigid (first lens I ever owned and only leica lens for 20 years)
Summitar Collapsible screw-mount (was on a IIIf I bought)
Summilux Type II x2 (one to be sold some day)
Cannon f/1.4 screw mount (ebay $200 in excellent condition)
Really Really like the new CV f/1.5, resisting...
Sonnetar looks really nice, resisting...
All really nice. Surprisingly like the CV f/1.1 the least of this group. Big and Soft, not different enough from the 'lux. The Canon is the 'big surprise'; wonderful pictures and haptics.
