I just found a Focomat IIc on the curb. It's incredible what some people throw out

This event proves that most people in The Netherlands do not know that you can still shoot on film and make beautiful prints on gelatin silver paper.

I am always in love with those speedy sociological studies of yours, Erik. ;)

I'm always right in the middle of the people.

Leica M2, VM Ultron 35mm f/1.7, 400-2TMY, Focomat IIc, Adox MCC-110.

Oh he was definitely aware. I talked to him for a short minute. He still shoots analog from time to time, but hadn't had time to print anymore. He was moving places and the enlarged couldn't come with. I got extremely lucky!

I found a nickel in a parking lot only ten days ago. Many years ago, I found a quarter while out hiking. I thought that was good fortune. Wow.

This event proves that this individual and most people in The Netherlands are two opposite kind of characters.

Yes, agreed. Tijmen did not tell me this story as we were too busy about the IIc. Strange guy as he could easily sell the enlarger on "Marktplaats".
I fully agree to say that a Dutchman who prefers to give something valuable to whomever wants to take it for free and use it, rather than easily selling it for his own profit, can be called "strange". That fellow citizen may even be a foreigner living in The Netherlands.

:D

The blessing of digital:

those who did not enjoy the darkroom got rid of their equipment. Prices dropped and everyone can now buy a fantastic enlarger. Or find them in the street. Or just be given one.

Spend your money on lots of film, lots of chemicals and lots of paper !!! That being essential to grow as a photographer and a printer.

And to keep analogue alive !!!
