I like mine; the only reason I don't love it, is that its girth and long focussing throw make things a bit cramped on my M3 with M handgrip. Optically, though, it's a wonderful lens.

I have one of these and like it quite a bit, but I was wondering if anyone codes them for use on the digital M's. I'm curious to see if that would help with vignetting and such.

You can get LTM-to-M mount adapter with 6-bit grooves milled out and code it yourself as a Noctilux. But that doesn't help with vignetting. Even a Nocti on M9 vignettes.

I haven't used mine in a while (50mm is a bit long on a cropped M8), and my copy has some haze in one of the elements, probably due to some of the cementing coming undone.

Regardless, it can sometimes give some fantastic results.

Just received my sample today 🙂. First impressions:

a) It looks awesome on an M body.
b) The form factor is quite unusual: really fat but very short. It seems to protrude less from the body than even my old Jupiter-8. Much shorter physically than most Planar-like designs. From diagrams on the web, the optical layout looks much like the Canon f/0.95 and the f/1 Noctilux has some similarities as well. Probably contains some high-refraction glass.
c) Focus feels very smooth and precise thanks to ~180 degree travel and large diameter focus ring.
d) Why on earth did this thing need an infinity lock :bang:

re: d - LTM lenses can be a pain to unscrew without an infinity lock.
