I think non-photographers sometimes make better photographers, at least in part because they aren't conditioned and are freer. Beginner's Mind.

Mine has borrowed a Sony a7 with a Zuiko 50mm macro fitted, and she seems to be really enjoying it, explicitly pointing out that she likes the manual focus. I'm really hoping that she will keep going with it - as long as she gets her own camera!
