Using a DSLR with macro extensions is a viable option.
You'll want to make a sort of copy-stand sort of thing, which could be 'free' if you have a bit off stuff and duct tape.

I need a scanner for MF and for 35, but having bought a nonworking V700 has made resent the idea of buying another scanner after such a deceptive sale.

Raid, sorry about the bad deal. I have a V700 and it is great for MF and 35. Perfect in every way. I thought the scans were great but after I added the Better Scanning ANR glass they were just out of this world. A great one time investment. I process my own BW negs. I keep magnifying the negs in Photoshop to check the detail and I am just taken away. I start seeing details in the background that I never knew were there. It doesn't hurt that I use Zeiss glass.I have Vuescan but the prefer the Silverfast software for most negs.

I still use a Konica Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV for my 35mm film. The official drivers no longer work under OS 10.8.x, so the only way to use it is to use Vuescan. Making the switch actually improved the scanner perfroamce, so for once obsolescence worked in my favor. For the few times I shoot medium format these days, I have an older Epson Perfection 4870 Photo. Both scanners give me enough to make good 11" x 14" prints, which is about as big as I ever go.

I know that I have to get over it and just buy another V700 with ANR glass.

Temporarily I do not use film cameras but I want to return to it for 3-4 months.
I have a Pentax Me Super and medium format in plans (6x7/6x9).
Im looking for budget scanner which will be scan well 120mm and 35mm film.
I was thinking about the Canon 9000F and Epson v600. Epson seems better, has probably fixed frame and better dynamic range but Canon has many satisfied users...
Please opinions the users of both scanners.
