If you could have just ONE camera bag, what would you choose and why?

the fogg bags were my first thought but the everyday messenger from kickstarter really might be the right answer.

I agree that bag looks to be quite the nice piece. As a "one bag to rule them all", it looks both small and large enough to handle everything, and adaptable enough to do the number.

But it's hard to say what it's like to wear and use until you see one in the flesh...

Chrome Niko Messenger bag. More weatherproof than any conventional camera bag I've ever owned, ergonomically designed to be comfy while on a bike/motorbike, made in the USA, and (to stick with the "lifetime" theme) with a lifetime warranty to boot. Plus it doesn't scream "steal me I'm a camera bag."

The interior of the Niko Messenger is a bit sparse (it was designed for DSLR-sized kits), but with a few aftermarket inserts it adapts to smaller mirrorless/RF kits quite well.

I totally agree with several posters - only one bag is insane, a madman's errand.

I do not know what my choice would be, but I highly suspect that it would have a green tag on it that says Billingham.

I do like the Fogg bags - but price-wise, they are a bridge too far (up till now, at least).

I have considered a custom made bag - with my back and shoulder issues, A backpack style bag is what I really should have.

I am currently using a BillHadPro for a small load and a Filson rucksack with the BillHadPro insert in it for a medium load. For everything but the kitchen sin, I use a Tenba "Discovery" medium backpack, which is no longer made. The large size is available, though: http://www.tenba.com/products/discovery-photo-laptop-daypack-large-blackgray.aspx

Impossible to have just one since I have several camera systems. I have a Domke FX5B bags for my Leica M, Leica TM, and my Sony A7r. I don't like to carry around a lot of lenses like I used to do. - jim

sadly, this is utterly true and utterly to the detriment of my bank account

the domke 5xb would be a really great candidate bag with something other than velcro. maybe magnetic clasps. the dimensions are really right.

l love Billingham bags, l have three, the Stowaway, Hadley Pro and 335, plus a cople of lowepro.......................thinks for a sort while.................Billingham Hadley Pro, suits all my needs and comfortable to carry

oopps forgot l also have a Domke, (dispatch type)

If pushed to make a choice, I really, really like my F-Stop Kenti. It is one of a few camerabags that also are good backpacks. Most are lousy, I compared it to some Lowepro's, but they don't come close. It also is very easy to get into. It is perfect for a SLR set, but a bit big for a small mirrorless system - still, if forced to use just one bag, it'll be this one.

There are some improvements I would like, but it is a great compromise.

I have many camera bags. However, the only one I really treasure is my first one because it was given to me many years ago by my wife. I lost my wife to cancer but I will never lose that bag.
