it's very probably the camera, but just to be sure, have you tried a different card reader? I've seen corrupted files due to the card reader, though this doesn't look like that. Also, are you seeing the same thing with in-camera Jpegs vs. DNG? Just trying some variables to eliminate before sending it off...

Haha, aliens invading my living room... I reset the camera and it got worse... Almost no image.. Yep sensor or main board are toast... Any idea how much the repair is, I'm guessing well over $1,000...?

If your M9 also has the corrosion issue, you might get a new sensor replaced for free.

That is a major bummer. I'm being genuine here.
I suppose the only thing to do is send to Leica and brace yourself. If its a whopper estimate, you don't necessarily have to proceed. I hear stories of Leica having pity for folks with such cameras and offering nice trade in deals, etc. Ya could get lucky that way?

Yeah, I'll probably send it in and see what happens... My expatiations are set really low... Luckily I have some other cameras that I more than capable, just love having the option to shoot with my leica lenses..

This is strangely reminiscent of the “Scotty, beam me up” banding on the first batch of M8 cameras late 2006. Send it directly to Leica Wetzlar, there is a small chance that they might surprise you.

I guess it is better to laugh than to cry, but hell when you spend that kind of money on a digital camera it is rather upsetting. Can it repaired and at what cost?

Hmm, I downloaded the repair form, in the US says to send to to New Jersey.. can I send it directly to Germany? Need advice some advice?

Yes, you can send directly to Germany (taking heed of the customs regulations for repairs), which certainly makes a difference.

Would this be the general consensus to send it directly to Germany for the best Service?

What type of paper work do I include, a print on the issue basically? Anything else?
