images: fuji 18/2

That's really great to hear. I've been fooling around using Nik software to make B&W. It looks like I need to give the OOC settings a try. :)

In this scenario the OOC file didn't need any tweaking to my eye, but I usually get better results by postproducting the image in SilverEfex, which is very powerful and useful to me.
It depends on the type of image itself and what you'd like to achieve, I guess ;)

Bought it.....sold it.....bought it again

Digging the first one. There aren't enough skate photos on RFF!

I like this one too, surprised by the DOF and sharpness, it doesn't look like a 18/2! amazing.

Many superb examples with this small jewel!

I love mine, I'll post some when I can

Anyone ever run across this with a Fuji XF lens? I picked up a used X-Pro1 body with an 18/f2 lens. After using it for family snaps over Christmas, I noticed a blob which I assumed was dust on the sensor. I cleaned the sensor several times, but the blob was unchanged. In frustration I pulled the lens and looked through it and sure enough there was a black speck inside the lens. Is this crappy QC by Fuji? Now I did not buy this kit for doing landscapes and it’s easy enough to clone the blob out in LR/PS when it becomes noticeable, but it sure is annoying as hell.

Lenses do get stuff inside but not usually "blobs" :) I have one and it is a good/useful lens. As far as Fuji lenses that I have go, this one is a bit lighter and loose than others. Mine was used but very clean when I got it. Here is a sample image from this past September. I would suggest having it cleaned.

i recently bought another copy of the 18mm lens...it's freeing to use, sort of like when i use the 27...in fact they make a good combo.

This is exactly the set up I settled on, with an X-T10 for maximum compactness. Now I am doing my best to resist acquiring one of the zooms..:bang:

a couple of my samples for the mix...
