In 2009 I want a . . . .

In 2009 I want to... use stuff I have to make photographs, instead of looking for new gear. :)

I'm hoping i've finally tried every possible lens or camera, so i can finally realize 'the experience' of taking pictures isn't going to get any better, no matter what i buy.... So that i can also settle down and just shoot without worrying that my gear isn't precisely ideal for the given situation.

Other than that, though....

- I want a 50mm/f1.0 Nokton or Zeiss ZM, for <$1500.
- I'd love it if Zeiss came out with a full-frame M-mount digital rangefinder.
- Or, if Canon or Nikon bought the R-DS1 platform and put a full frame, <14MP sensor in it.
- I'd like a Canon 1DsMkIV in a more compact form factor, for about $4000.
- I'd like someone to design a beautiful, classic leather bag that i can use to carry one or two (small) cameras - something that looks unlike a camera bag.
- I would absolutely LOVE an AF Leica R camera that shoots FILM. Unfortunately, all signs indicate it will be a digital-only platform, and it will cost an inexcusable amount of money. So, nevermind.

As far as photography goes - to improve my skills using what I have, plus travel a lot, so I can use it all in some interesting places.

Me too. Just started souping my own film, so I also want enough time to get better at it.

And snow in the mountains. It's awfully dry right now in NorCal.

I agree. Enough lusting for more lenses and cameras [for a while at least!]. I need to work on scanning MF negatives and transparencies, and then use MF equipment for a while.

Leica mp, decent flat bed scanner V750 or better (flexlights abit too much), A decent supply of 120, 35mm ATP 1.1 film +spur DC developer. Alpa SWA+48MM+ 72MM lens. Now I just being greedy

A Voigtlander 75mm f2.5 Colour Heliar (LTM)
A Voigtlander 50mm f1.5 Nokton (LTM)
B/W Darkroom (got everything other then the room)
5X4 daylight processing tank
A Linhof Technorama 617 S III with Technorama Super-Angulon XL 5,6 / 72 and Matching Viewfinder
A new groundglass in my Wista 45DX/II as the scratch on mine bugs me

More Rollei Retro 400
i think that should keep my busy and content for a while

Probably only one as it'll take me that long to save up for one...

50 Summilux-M ASPH

and a VC28/2.0 if any monies are left

I want a Contax-mount fast 28mm. Throw in the finder for a modest single price, por favor :) (i.e. don't offer the finder separate)

Since we are wishing, put the Zeiss name on it and include a Zeiss sticker or keychain or something :D

I'm so modest I don't even care if I can afford it. I just want to buy one second-hand in a few years lol.

Why can't I stop wanting to get more gear? Here's what I want:

A Summicron 90/2... or possibly a Nikkor 85/2.
A fast wide - 35/1.4 or 28/2
An Leica model II (D) in black.

Word. I need a scanning minion, especially now that I'm shooting more medium format.

An assistant to scan my negs. I am so far behind! I have almost 70 rolls of film shot since August to scan photos from (a few photos per roll, I only scan the good ones!), and I have about 50 rolls from my time in New Mexico that have sat for way too long waiting to be scanned.

• I wish for the strength of conviction. I'd like to be able to simply choose ONE 35mm system and ONE MF system, and be done with it.

• I wish for the funds to upgrade to Business Class, so that long distance air travel wouldn't be such a burden. Cramming 6'3" into Coach is a nightmare as the airlines cram more and more rows into the cabin.

• I wish for a truly realistic film simulation plug-in that actually imparts a bit of film's random funkiness.

• I wish APX100 would be un-discontinued. I just bought a small batch of Rollei Retro 100, and i hope it's around for a while.

• I wish luck to the fine folks who aim to continue Polaroid, and also that they consider creating a Pos/Neg film that doesn't require a bucket and chemicals to fix it.

• I wish the fine folks at Cosina/Voigtlander or Zeiss would come out with a 50/1.0 for a reasonable price.

a Nokton Classic 35mm f1.4 or a Color Skopar 35mm f2.5
a Skopar 25mm f4.0 or a Ultron 28mm f2.0
a Bessa R4M
a Nikkor 50mm f1.4 for my F80
a big box with Portra 160/400 NC

things have changed...

ordered a olympus e-420 with a 25mm pancake yesterday.

I still want a Summicron-M 35/2 IV lens, but can't afford it without conflicting with myself and others about the big amount of money it needs to get one right now.:(:bang:
