In and around the house

The house in Saigon where I've been living for quite a while is going to be sold. It fills me with sadness. This kitchen represents life in Saigon before e-commerce before consumer goods became widely available. Everything is basic and functional; made of plastic; affordable, and colorful. Leica SL2S - Canon L 2.8/24-70 @ 55mm with a Viltrox adaptor.

@Out to Lunch, I hope you find a nice home soon.

Besides homemade pizza (and countless other Italian dishes and baked goods), my Mom - a native of Italy and WWII survivor (Battle of Monte Cassino and surrounds) - who recently passed at 97, learned to make "Tielle" - rustic Italian pies - for my Dad who was from Gaeta, Italy. We were blessed with her cooking over all these years. God Bless you Ma.

These three she made among other versions (combinations of Escarole, Spinach, Cod, Octopus, Squid, Onion and Egg - and others I am forgeting - seasoned with olive oil, Parmesan, fresh basil, tomato etc...):
