In Ottawa...

I'm here I'm here
Always up for a beer or lunch with another photo enthusiast!

What are you seeing when you're here?

Hope it will be warmer when you get here.

Excellent! I'll know my schedule on Monday. I am attending a conference and have to do a couple of presentations at Carleton, but suspect that my evenings will be free -hopefully a lunch here and there as well - almost certainly a lunch on Saturday Feb 1. I'll PM you. One thing I am hoping to see is the exhibit of early Newfoundland photographs currently on display at the National Gallery.

There are some of us here. Although I've never met any other RFFers in person. That may be an interesting evening. I know I'm going to be busy on the 1st, but I'll try and make time time whenever else you guys are available.

I saw teh exhibit you mention last month. It's smaller than I expected (only one room, maybe twenty images) but they are fascinating images. While you're there you should also check out the Artisans exhibit. Lots of platnum prints from the early 1900s (won't be the same as seeing your home 150 years ago, but interesting images none the less).

Well,

My schedule is a bit more settled. Any evening after 6 pm anywhere downtown will work on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Maybe lunch on any of those days - not hundred present sure.

mooge, sounds intriguing. Still not sure when I am at Carleton.

I'm walking distance to Carleton U and there are some great restaurants in Old Ott South and the Glebe. Where are you staying when you're here?

Another "thing to see" if you are into old cameras is the "collection" at the National Science Museum. It is in their "warehouse" but it is open to the public if you make an appointment. Thousands of cameras.

Oh, Oh Oh, the National Gallery is free, from 5pm to 8pm on Thursdays.

Thursdays are the "night to go to the Gallery"

So how about a gallery night and then dinner, on Thur Jan 30?

How does one make such an appointment?!?

For a work related project I got a tour of the warehouse at the war museum, and I have to say, it was one of the coolest experiences I've ever had at a museum.

oh snap! I wonder what kind of crazy analog synthesizer goodness they have there...

As for racecar, I think my only quasi-free day would be Thursday; tomorrow and I think friday we're heading out to the boonies to do some composites work (ask me why to hear me complain about Carleton). If you other guys (Defcon or Vick) are interested too, just lemme know. there isn't really that much to the shop but it's kinda cool.

Totally missed this thread. Although I no longer own a range finder and don't really shot film anymore, I'm still a photographing and still living in Ottawa so if anyone's interested in a meet up let me know.
