In vino veritas...

To my nose there's a typical note in Niagara region Cab Franc wines (varietal or blend): bell peppers. Love it. Do you get that as well?
Yes, bell peppers are typical of cab franc. That may be especially true of Niagara, but I can't honestly say I've tasted enough cab franc from other regions to speak authoritatively. But if someone/folks will supply me with a world-wide sampling, I'd be happy to do some research. :D

This will get you a $2000 fine and up to a year in jail in VT. Supplying alcohol to a minor is a serious offense hereabouts. More insanity from our citzen legislature.

Maybe so, but it's a wonderful shot!

But sometimes the bottle lies ... This one had been opened about 18 years ago and refilled with something that was not Chateau Lafite 57

As I was quickly scrolling down, Bob, I initially thought it was a childhood picture of you.

Pagan primitives, we Basques!

Actually it's called a "Tupiñako". After roasting a while on an oak log fire, the lamb is then cut up and finished in a huge pot (tupiña) with hot basque red peppers.Delicious. It's a pretty common site round here. I can't remember the name for the wine but the bottles have some kind of fruit in there and we drink it warmed up a little.

Actually, it looks tasty. The lamb must be wonderfully smoky. The event you photographed would have fed a few Basques, I'd say.

Btw, what does agneaux translate as? I tried a French dictionary. Perhaps I should have looked for a Basque dictionary. It is a distinct dialect, non?

Very nice shot Gabriel. The subject, selective focus, composition, colours. It's all perfect!

Also, I've always been smitten by the pre-aspheric 'lux. I really want one.

Merry X-mas to all!
