Is Essex Camera closed and what's the next best choice?

I have boxed up my grandfather's Konica Autoreflex T2, which needs work on the film advance mechanism. Based on so much praise, I was going to send it off to Essex Camera. An email to them bounced with the message that their inbox was full. An attempt to call yielded a message saying that the number was no longer in service.

Elsewhere on the web I see that last year the shop was flooded?

So, are they gone? Does anyone know what's up with them or how to get in contact with them?

And beyond that, if Essex is gone, at least for the time being, what's my next best option? Really wanted to get this camera worked on, but not sure where to send it now. I can always just wait another year and find a shop to work on it in Japan when I move back over there next year, but I'd rather not wait that long.

Thoughts? Thanks!

My understanding (& there are other threads about Essex here & on photo.net), is that Essex is gone. If they are able to reestablish themselves, I'm sure there will be an announcement.

In the meantime, Greg Weber (http://www.webercamera.com/repairs.html) is supposedly the Konica guru.

When I last tried to get in touch with Weber, I got no response. I also got a couple of private warnings from people who were unsatisfied with his work.

I've had him do some work on Koni-Omega Rapid & a Konica IIIa a few years ago & the quality was fine.

Similarly, I've had good experiences w/Mark Hama w/Canon RF stuff & he did fine, but there have been some complaints about him, too.

FWIW, I don't think I know a single repairperson who hasn't had some complaints. It's the nature of the biz, I guess.
