Technically film is better for me AS WELL as others, though it may not be better for you or others. It's not just me, there are a group of us. It's an aesthetic choice for me, mainly. I don't like the nuclear reds that all digital cameras have for one thing. I meant to mention incidentally, I thought the pics you took recently of the parade were really good, even if digital. I won't be shutting my mouth whatever the case.
