Is it any different than the mentality of those who view their digital cameras as disposable, especially after a new version comes out?

Sounds like you have too much time on your hands. I can relate. I search for things to buy when I'm bored at work (I get my work done too). I don't NEED anything...
However, when I'm busy in life, I'm not worried about buying stuff.
Describes my situation well. The busier I am, the less I buy. Note to self: stay busy.

Lets say, I have bought a new camera and it does not help me get "the sort of photographs that I have in mind to capture".
I go buy another camera, it does not work. I buy another camera, nothing. I get into lenses, I get into different formats, I get into bags and accessories, still nothing.
Would I be a rational person to continue on buying my way into "art"?
