Very nice get-together tonight; much lively conversation.
Got home, downloaded my 150 Pulitzer winners only to find a bunch of pictures of people's backsides! :-( I'm going back to flower and cat photography where I belong.

Sorry I missed y'all ... things ran out of hand this weekend. Sounds like you had a good time.

Jeff, you forgot Robert's 'two thumbs up' for "The Photographed Cat" http://www.catster.com/lifestyle/dressing-cats-the-photographed-cat
I'll add to the list , a classic I just got. Doisneau's Paris. Terrific.

BTW... The battery life on the X100s is pathetic. 63 raw+ exposures and dead. Hmmmm... Might this be another shirt lived experiment for me?

1. Buy at least 3 more batteries.
2. Expect them to last longer when they've had several charges. I don't know why that happens, but a couple of people (besides me) have noticed it.
Thanks for gathering us together. Hope y'all got some good shots. Went home early 'cause my knee gave out on me.
As to Fraenkel, I thought the back room was boring, but Nan Goldin's Porn for Geezers show was quite uplifting.

Desperate but not serious
X100 battery issues - Use the rear screen as little as possible.
That screen will drain you dry.
I developed all three rolls last night and found way too many shots under exposted or with really choked up blacks.
Ugh.

Fantastic shots, Donald (the back receding hairline shot notwithstanding).
Bravo!

Kent, I've not experienced this kind of behavior with mine. Maybe the black X100s requires more juice to produce those 'pro' level images?
But seriously, do you use the camera with EVF or LCD on all the time? My normal set-up is with OVF only (LCD off). And no auto playback of shots taken. I used the camera all day, made about 160 exposures. The battery was getting close to its limit by the end. I normally expect about 200 shots with a battery and I carry two extra.

Hey Jamie. I had image review off but I did use the rear screen a great deal. As you know I have a "few" cameras and this was uniquely bad. Hopefully it'll perk up and do better next time out.
