Totally unrelated to photography. But Joe. Look at this from HTD

you ARE bored jorge!

yeah, i know. since i signed on here and got back into photography, the whole home theatre experience thing has sorta drifted away.
i was large on the sound & vision site also but now just a memory.

oh well, there is just so much time and energy, especially for us old farts...😉

Bored I am. Everyone is sleeping and I am surfing this wonderful site we all have come to know as RFF. Anyway, all of my HT stuff is packed away in boxes until I move back to Oregon. The sad thing is my PC's with Photoshop are packed. My scanner is packed and I have no motivation to take pictures at this time. 🙁

a year may be a short time in a lifetime but for the enjoyment of everyday things it's an eternity.
can you get some of that gear out and in use?

if not then maybe send a lens or 2 my way (one that will fit the zeiss ikon) and i'll send ya prints of anything good i might take...😉

cheer up boss!

A year is too long to go without the things you love to do....
If nothing else, get yourself a good pair of computer speakers, some of them out there these days aren't too shabby. Ain't no McIntosh, but it's enough to get your fix.

it's funny that you mention HT... I have a home audio system that's nothing special, but I always liked it.. a nice Cambridge Audio cd player and preamp, and a Sonic Frontiers tube amp.. the speakers are Axiom Audio M3ti's, but they were moved over to my front home theater speakers after I acquired a new Cambridge Audio HT setup.. the audio system has sat unused for over 6 months.. until today

I decided to move the speakers back because I picked up the latest Cowboy Junkies cd, and wanted to hear it on the better system... after reconnecting the speakers to the audio-only system and letting it warm up, I popped in the cd.. there was barely a perceptible difference between the two audio systems.. while the tube amp provides a slight warmth, the older cd player and preamp detracts from the system just enough to make it a wash.. I'm amazed at the sound quality in a home theater package.. granted, it's no Audio Research or McIntosh, as bobofish mentioned.. but since I don't have the space anymore for a dedicated audio-only system, it'll do
