New York June NYC Meet-Up

Nice Cal! That's gotta feel good.

John,

$500.00 gets recycled into ink and paper.

Last year spent a lot on cameras, even though I have so many.

In a way a free D3X was also payment, and also another $500.00 towards the 58/1.4 AF-D.

Sometime in the future $1K more expected for color ink and a new set of carts to convert my 3880 into a color printer.

I can't believe I'm making money and having fun.

Hi Cal, thanks for holding the scarf for me, everything is good I hope I could get
to meet you guy's soon. It's just that I work weekends and they cut back on staff
so it's hard to get weekends off without a struggle. I got a bunch of new toy's and I
been working on them and I finally decided to buy my friends Hasselblad.

Bob,

Glad to hear. A Blad sounds like a great acquisition.

Hope you have time to enjoy all those new toys.

I think it's going to work great, they seem to be really great picture takers,
I get them developed and put on a CD by my job on 73rd street and when
I download them on my computer and printed wow they look so different
the depth and quality of 120 film is terrific.

Medium format is magical.

You loose about two stops on lens speed, you loose a lot of DOF, but you can stop down further without diffraction.

Nothing like a big negative...

Are you shooting B&W or color?

Cal

19th should work for me unless I need to jump onto a bike tour last minute.

Cal, I forgot to bring your micro-nikkor last week. I actually got a 3.5 version for $30 or so, even though I can't make the camera work yet.
I saw some pictures of you on Facebook.

Christian,

The 3.5 version is even sharper than the 2.8 version. Back in the day (70's) I used a 3.5 Macro as my normal lens.

Facebook???

Some hipster at an Aperture opening for Marry Ellen Mark I suspect. Was my arm around "Maggie?" Is my D3X in my right hand visible?

Or maybe a book signing at the Strand.

Cal

No, you were in the park bearing your chest, showing off that Ti bike.

Christian,

That bike Jersey is called a "Full Zip." The East End Cycling Team kinda dominated the Prospect Park Racing Series back in the day. I use to train with these guys that were stronger and younger than me, and I ended up taking a beating like a man trying to hang out with these guys that had the lungs of race horses. Those guys on my team were animals.

One guy's name was "Gene The Machine."

Anyways being an artist I am naturally an exhibitionist. LOL.

A funny story is I was riding with Jean, her boyfriend Greg, and my friend Mike wearing a full zip jersey on a day that had a wicked heat index out in the Hamptons. Jean said that it would be rude, but she would not care because it was so hot that she wished her Jersey was a full zip so she could open it and let her girls loose into the breeze.

I did not consider it rude. LOL.

To be modest I now seldom wear lycra shorts. First off sometimes my muscular butt gets mistaken for a woman's. Pretty funny to see cars slow down and then speed up when they see my arrogant chin beard. Also I have had women drive their cars at my pace on a bike to admire the view. Clearly my 38 inch chest is not my best ass-set.

The Ti bike is like a piece of jewelry. I only own three T bikes. LOL.

Cal

Your on facebook???

Pro-Mone,

The only place I waste time on the internet is on RFF while I'm at work. LOL.

Some people waste their lives on FaceBook.

I heard a funny joke from the guy doing standup: Basically he claimed to be jealous of a friend of his who had "10,000 fake friends" while he only had "5,000 fake friends." LOL.

Color, using the 3.5F and 3.5E, I had to go thru them fixing them up a
bit a little cleaning here and there and relube the focusing which came
out smooth, the grease they used back then just harden up and made
both cameras hard to focus.

Cal, there's a picture of Maggie on here site taken at a train station looks like
metro-north I know one at 125th street but the other.
