Could be Dobs Ferry, Hastings or Scarsdale.

Recently went to a Communion in Dobbs; Hastings is to visit Maggie's mom; and Scarsdale is to visit Dave, Maggie's daughter, and Baby-Girl who is now 2.

How are the slow speeds? I can time one second by counting aloud one up to seven as fast as I can.

If you need the shutter to be serviced I highly recommend Harry Fleenor. He is clearly the best. Also know that Rollie's need constant exercise.

To me Rollie's are better street cameras and a Blad is really a studio camera. Also I prefer 3.5's due to their handling, size and weight. Diane Arbus use to carry three loaded Rollies in a knapsack to hit the street. Makes sense to have another loaded camera because with only 12 shots a roll loading causes many missed shots.

I did clean them out, I mean really cleaned them, I removed the front
section of both of them, removed the front element and gave them
a contact cleaner cleaning, the aperture blades and shutter blades
I went thru a box of Q-Tips but got them clean and so far the shutter
been working great, still I will have to send them out to get checked.
 
Had to reload my carts which is kind of a big job on my bigger printer. Really glad I put my 3880 into storage mode with Piezoflush.

Been printing Monochrom shots from Eastern State Penitentiary. I should have some cool prints to show at the Meet-Up.

Now that my GAS for cameras is satiated, and my bikes have been built up and optimized my new obsession goes back to the ultimate slacking exercise : fishing. A few years back Maggie's brother gave me a really nice high end 5 weight fly rod, and today I ordered a crazy reel that has a sealed drag so I can use this for salt water even though salt water rods kinda start at 8 weight.

Understand that a 5 weight fly rod is kinda medium duty for fresh water, and its kinda light duty for any freshwater bass. In Central Park I know where this 5 pound Small Mouth Bass resides that has been caught and released several times, and he resides in my neighborhood. I'll be testing the waters and know I always liked catching big fish on light tackle. I think this is heading into saltwater fly rodding and back into surf casting for monster bass.

I use to be a pin hooker, and avid surfcaster, and a deep sea fisherman who went offshore for Tuna and Shark. Anyways I haven't been fishing since I moved into the City over a decade and a half ago. I'm getting ready to retire by gearing up.

I have pictures of my dad casting for bass off the beach. He couldn't convince me that it was something that I should be doing.

In my stretch of the Mediterranean beach, hobbyist fishermen are very common. I see them in the mornings, evenings and even nights. From the train they seem so pacific and calming. Heck, I'd say that some still fish during the bustle of holidays (Christmas) and sit calmly between groups of partygoers that stay on the beach.

I've never thought about joining them, but they are a nice piece of the environment over here and like their figure and relaxed stand.

And hey... June. Heat is becoming brutal on my side of the pond and it seems yesterday since I went to NYC. IMO, with the heat I dislike travel. Though if I could jump on a flight and join you, no doubt!

Fishing is relaxing and exciting at the same time. I really can relate to Hemingway's "The Old Man And The Sea." Something primal and very primitive gets stirred up.

I particularly like surf casting. Something very romantic about being alone with yourself and exploring the unknown wandering around. Something very peaceful about the solitude.

I also like fishing with light tackle which requires enhanced skill. I remember early springs catching 5-6 pound Blackfish on a 5 pound test spinning rod set up for Flounder fishing. The lite rod was bent in half like I caught bottom and was trying to break the rod.

With Blackfish one must violently set the hook because they have leathery mouths, and also you have to get them off the bottom right away or else they will snag your line around any bottom structure. Kinda like boxing (another Hemingway pastime) where you throw a jab and then a powerful right as a combination. With practice it becomes instinct. Cooked right a filleted Blackfish resembles Lobster in texture and taste.

I think I would like one of those new Hobbie Cat Kyacks that one peddles flippers instead of paddling, especially the ones set up for fishing. I could really loose myself fishing like that.

I finished a few more prints from Eastern State Penitentiary. The soft light is very dreamy, even though shot with a modern Leica ASPH lens (28 Cron).

It seems that more developments are happening where Jon Cone devised a work around for the P800, and in the process developed a new enhanced black that can be used and incorporated into Piezography.

Using the new black requires a new profile, but I'm not so sure I need even more shadow detail or a blacker black. Anyways I find it interesting that my old printers can still be updated and are supported with upgrades, even though they are no longer being made or sold new.

Again I need to buy some more ink.

On the biking front I installed the new rear wheel on my Ti IBIS which looks very evil because the rim, the spokes and the hub are black. This bike only weighs 17 1/2 pounds. Finally got a new mountain bike tire for the steel IBIS and it is finalized into a 21 3/4 pound heavy duty Trials bike. Been working on my strength and endurance lately. Still only 150 pounds, but more muscle and less fat.

Only a high of 68 degree's F today. So far it is a late summer and odd weather.

At Fairway, the supermarket on 86th Street, the price of smoked Salmon went from $19.99 a pound to $23.99 this year. When it was $21.99 I still bought it, but now the good source of protein I require I deem is not cost effective anymore.

Fishing is like developing your own B&W film at this point. LOL.

Enjoying the fall like weather (windy and cool nights). I can feel that my legs are getting stronger and that my anerobic threshold is becoming elevated. At this point I need to do long hammer rides as I have a strong base. This new lighter rear wheel makes for faster acceleration and faster speeds with less effort.

Been printing some ESP images and will be bring some new work to the Meet-Up.

Planning a vacation to Toronto, North America's fourth largest city. Looking forward to recharging.

Yesterday I was in Barnes And Noble looking at a book called "Mountain Bik Porn." None of the bikes were retro, and all had disc brakes. Call me an old man, but none of those bikes excite me.

I take note that rim brakes are the lighter weight set-up, and that disc breaks require heavier frames and wheels. Carbon bikes are too stiff.

Back in the day when I started mountain biking there was no such thing as suspension, not even a fork. It took a good amount of skill to ride or race a "rigid."

On both my IBIS's are featured with "Koski" forks. Scott Nichole was part of that "Repack" crowd and was likely the youngest member. Scott is a member of the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame and a NORBA Trials Champion.

In the various bike shops I frequent any of my bikes creates a stir because each one is historical and noteworthy. Interesting to note that despite all the advances and the passing of decades all my bikes remain great bikes of unsurpassed quality. They have passed the test of time, and on top of that they are cool and also have mojo.

Kinda like driving a 1960's musclecar or a vintage Porshe: the history goes with the ride.

BTW I broke a titanium frame which are suppose to be indestructable. Cracked a weld by the head tube. Luckily I had the frame warrenteed and I got a replacement.

What I like the most about that era is the overall attitude of just plain goofing around and having fun in all extreme ways. BTW there was plenty of personality and basically all were kinda funny guys. Scott was particularly funny. Each guy had his own sense of style. No clones back then. The word hipster had not been invented. LOL.

I'm trying to make the best of the weather. So far we had some early fall weather with those cool nights like in September and the need for jackets, even though its summer.

On my Ti IBIS I have to engineer a solution because I have these moustache shaped handlebars that are titanium that rotate on my stem. After a while on a ride eventually the ends drop.

Looking forward to visiting Toronto. Suppose to be a lot like NYC. It is the 4th largest city in North America after Mexico City, NYC, and LA. The currency exchange adds lots of buying power due to the collapse in commodity prices.

I should be getting my new fly reel delivered today. Yesterday I got a surprise delivery of my sinking fly line.

Anyways a lot has happened since our trip to Philly.

Cal,
Check to see that your clamp bolt hasn't stretched. I see this, especially with the flexibility of titanium components, they effectively stretch steel bolts even to the point of narrowing them. A grade 8 or 10 will take care of that for a longer while than standard grade 5 mild steel.
Check the clamp surfaces themselves when tight to make sure they aren't bottoming out against each other, preventing it from fully tightening.
Another thing you can do is the "beer can" shim. It's just that, a piece of aluminum can to take up space within the clamp.
I'd like to see this thing one day.
We have a gen 1 Stumpjumper at the shop which I may bite on. I love the ancient mountain bikes.
