I just bought close to mint black contax g2 with 45mm lens. Well not sure how much I would like it but coming from digital, this is my first time trying out film.
I have seen how the 45mm planar have proven itself on a GH2 m43 system. Now hope I would not be disappointed by film although I am not expecting it to out do the M9 which I just sold!
I first bought a full set of titanium contax g lens (21, 28, 45, 90) and mounted them on m43 and nex cameras. The results are great from these little zeiss lens but not the field of view I want with 1.5x and 2.0x crop sensors. Then I sold them for the M8 and then later the M9. I got the 21mm biogon and the 50mm c-sonnar to go with the M9 and seriously I have never gotten so much out of a camera before. The M9 have taught me a lot.
Now I have sold the M9 to embark on the film journey and found myself going back to these superb zeiss lenses. Some may say I am crazy to sell the M9 and go to film while a thousand others are trying to do the opposite. But what the heck, for me, photography is a very personal and self absorbing hobby. I remembered vaguely that once a fellow Rfer told me that some day I will go to film and film will teach me one thing that digital have not. Discipline.
Hopefully I can do it.
