Keeping dust off your flatbed?

What's the proper way to store a ilford anti static cloth? They're not exactly cheap

I don't know if it's the best way, but I keep my active piece in a pint plastic tub that I get when I order curry take-out. Somewhat heavy flexible plastic, about 4 inches in diameter, 4 inches high. While using the clothe I can drop it back in and lay the lid on top between uses. Afterwards i store it with the lid pressed down. Easy to get to when working, should keep dust and dirt off pretty well.

I cut the clothe into two pieces for use, by the way. I also trim off the seam- something about that thread worries me. Anyone know if this is silly of me? Has the edge seam ever caused someone a problem?
