Anyone here has experience with KEH's 14-day return policy?
I'm interested in an item for which they have several copies, from BGN to EX+ and I would like to first order the cheaper item to see if its conditions suit me, and then return it in favor of the EX model if they don't.
I heard that KEH's customer service is quite good and also that many of their BGN-rated items are in quite good shape, so I'm tempted to give them a shot if they can be flexible letting me try out various models to see the actual conditions.

I have returned two items under this policy. One was a Leicagrip that turned out to be for a digital M, and the other was a Leica IIf that I decided just was not the camera for me. In both cases they were perfectly gracious. That's why I have bought six other items, all keepers, from them.

I agree with the others--their return policy is excellent. Last year I was trying out different M bodies. I bought and returned an M3 and an M6 with absolutely no problem at all.
I still kick myself for sending back the beautiful bargain M3 DS, but that's a whole other story...

yeap, I can vouch for their return policy.
I'm in Canada and I bought a BGN P67 prism finder end of January but wasn't happy with it so I called them and they told me to ship it back
Mid-feb, I receive the package back due to customs then tried shipping it again.
End of Feb I receive a refund even though they didn't receive the prismn 3-4 weeks after purchase.

I have ordered and returned items a number of times. They are very leniant on the return period too...I have returned items beyond the return period and they haven't given me issues. If it matters the Leica LTM lenses that I've ordered in BRG condition have had fungus, haze, and/or separation (summitar, summarit) so I wouldn't order LTM lenses from them without caution but most* other items have been fine.

I've returned one item with no problems several years ago. You might want to call or email and discuss that item, they'll likely help you out and explain what makes one a "BGN" condition, although the phone sales folks usually can't go get the item from stock while you're on the phone, someone can go look at it and get back to you.

KEH is great wrt return policy. They even pay for return costs.
So good, that I recommend to buy both lenses in one shot and keep the one you prefer.

You pay shipping both ways? It always bugged me you can't get an in hand description. Also annoying that I live in Atlanta and you cannot go by and see and decide between 2 or 3 items with same description. The place is in perpetual lock down. Friendly and helpful as they can be on the phone.

KEH will NOT pay return shipping unless the item is defective. If you're returning it because you don't like it then the shipping costs are on you.

They did for me, sent me a Fedex form.
They even once refunded me for a 40$ lens, and told me I could keep it.

I once bought a Mamiya m645 from them off the auction site for a really great (cheap) price (rated @ ex.) When it arrived I put it through it's paces and really tested it...
I found several items that were not right and some that I could live with...
In the end the unacceptable problems won and I called their Service Dept. to see about getting this body fixed...they (Service Guy) said, right on the spot, I'm just going to send you another body...keep the one you have (not worth it for them to ship it back)
They stand by what they say and sell...so, go for it...

Another thing, which is common sense, but make sure you actually get your refund and that it is correct.
I just called them because they didn't refund my tax on my most recent return and now that is being taken care of.

Thanks. Sounds like it's a pretty low-risk set-up designed to encourage purchases. I will give it try!

While they may cost a little bit more than some of the other used camera brokers, they have been in business for more than 25 years, I have dealt with them most of that time, and have never had a complaint. I have returned items, no questions asked beyond the reason ["This isn't working for me..."] without any difficulty. They now also give a 6 month warranty on used cameras. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

My experience is the same. Good people, good business.
I've bought many many items from them marked BGN and found them to be what I'd grade as VG+ to EXC. They've always been helpful on returns, for whatever reason.
