I'm pretty close to ordering the MCusta. I'm thinking of the 53D with Damascus and Cocobolo. I looked at Benchmade, Al Mar, and others. All very nice, but I seem to want the MCusta. What a cool knife! I'm pretty sure I want the pocket clip model, hence, 53D.

Once you use a headlamp, you won't want to be without one.

It was "gold" when my wife gave it to me 20 years ago, its faded a bit since then. I think Bean still offers a similar model.

I guess few people know this vintage Chinese watch made in early 1960's.
Here is a nice one made in 1980's with a SS7 movement.
There is a forum for vintage Chinese watches at watchuseek.com. There are already a few on-line museums for these watches.

I love RFF, an image posted of a girl on a bicycle is howled down as being inappropriate (and absolute rubbish by Simon) and should be removed immediately. Photos and discussion on knives - no problem! I await the gun lovers W/NW thread ...

The most expensive watch I have. Cost me 15 years of servitude to earn it.
The compass is because I get lost easily.

No, I saw it, and admired it. My breath has been taken away by the other bits of ironmongery. As Sparrow said in Post 26, "here in the UK we have police amnesties for this sort of thing".

Well, this is kind of a knife. A Japanese katana built from selected parts (some hand built by me). Though not comparable with the quality of real thing (known as a Nihonto - a sword made in Japan by trained artisans) probably only someone reasonably well informed about this art might know. It is never the less not bad an effort even if I do say so myself.
It's a hobby for those cold wet days when sensible photographers stay inside.
I practice iaido but for that we use a blunt training sword. Using this one which is razor sharp would be far too dangerous.
And here nearing completion with the scabbard built and lacquered (with about 20 coats of high quality lacquer) and the wrapping of the handle with silk braid about to commence but here held in place with temporary braid over the Ray skin under wrap.

I used to collect mainly folding knives and a few fixed blades. There are boxes of the things around the house. After a while I lost interest. Then just over a year ago it became legal to own and carry automatic knives in my state so I started up again adding switchblades and out-the-front autos. But I've never photographed my knives. Now that I think about it, I've never made pictures of any personal possessions.
