Alright everyone.. not sure how spread out the community is, or how many peoples travels have taken them to Spain-- but let's see if I can get a bit of help with this issue.

Labs in Spain? I'm not talking about the local super-mart that forces you do get prints with the negatives, but rather, a simple lab that would give me the option of just processing my negs.

In Southern California I had to drive 60 miles for something like that.. so I'm hoping a little less driving in Spain (transportation is a bit more difficult..).

So.. biggest nearby city.. Valenica.

Here's hoping.

p.s. I'm in an airport.. about to get on a 20 hour flight or so... so i probably won't be able to check this for awhile.. but all help is appreciated.. even if the only lab you know of is in Madrid (a bit of a ride..)

Thanks in advance. 😱

Hi!

I have not tried film processing at Valencia, but maybe this could be helpful:

*ByN Laboratorio Profesional. Reina Doña Germana 24. 46005 Valencia

Also some of this, depending where in Valencia city you are, and maybe too at the photolab on FNAC (books+music+tech articles)

Beware: it's raining quite a lot in Valencia; even comunnications stoped (motorways, roads, train...). Bring an umbrella!! 😉

Regards!

ZeMane, I havn't done any processing in Spain for a while, but is it still very expensive? I remember negatives only costing ~1,100 pts a few years back (Asturias).

Kully,

Haven't (just) processed a roll in years, but you're right: it was, and probably still is expensive. 1100 pts were about Euro 6,6, but I think it could cost no less than Euro 10-12. Sorry for not bing more precisse.
I've got curious reagarding this item, so I'll try to check the price next time I'll go dowtonw Madrid.

If I remember well, OSCARGARRIDO is the only forum member from Valencia (I would email or PM him, he´s a nice guy). It´s funny, he asked the same cuestion, but about NY, in august, and said he had a b+w roll developed for 4€ in Valencia.

I have searched in an spanish forum and people from Valencia recomends:
-FOTOPRO (maybe the best) near to the North Station
-FOTO DOMINGO close to the metro station "Angel Guimera".
-NACHER (some shops in Valencia).

I pay 5€ for the b+w negs, but here in Bilbao (a big city like Valencia) you have to wait 1 week for the b+w negs (only an hour for color). It was 3,5€ one month ago, so I think it´s time to start doing my own developing.

Color is cheaper and faster. I always ask for negatives only and never had any problem in different shops in Spain, but make sure that the salesman understands you, because it´s unusual here to ask only for negs, so tell him: "SOLO REVELADO, SIN FOTOS".

The weather will be good today and nest days, enjoy your visit

Thanks Iñaki
Tha best lab in Valencia is ByN Laboratorio Profesional. Reina Doña Germana 24 street, and is very cheap in comparision with the labs of New York,i believe that was 10 $ per b&w roll,in Spain are 4'50 euros,6$ approximately.

Also you can go to FOTOPRO (very good Iñaki),near to the train station, very kind and helpful people, the best treatment in Valencia, also you can see 5 or 6 pieces of leica.

You must not have problems in any of them.
If you have some doubt, my mail is gserra75@hotmail.com

Hola y ¿Como estan mis amigos?

So yah.. Thanks for your help everyone. I´ll have to find some time to pass by ByN and fotopro labs.. it seems to be the one that pops up the most. Thanks Oscar.. especially.. it was good for some native advice.

Alright.. some I´m holed up here for a year. Should be fun as the Spanish becomes more and more familiar... I tell you.. it´s one of the strangest feelings to want to say something, but just don´t have the words that anyone would understand.... and it happens over and over and over again.

Ah.. what a grande circumstance I find myself in.

Thanks again everyone. 😀

Thanks for the offer Oscar.. I will. I´ve only seen a few blocks around Valencia.. mainly those streets that were still lit up when I was driving to Sagunt from VLC.. very beautiful city at night.
