This is the last question, promise 🙂
I found in a local store a 39mm B+W UV MRC filter. I noticed that the diameter is right but the screw thread of the filter is not the same as in the lens.
The B+W "step" or whatever it's called is 0.5 which is narrower than the one on the lens.
Then I figured out that all the 39mm filters and hoods I have are the same as the B+W filter. However, the lens itself and the original rubber hood have a different (and matching) thread.
Are all 39mm filters with the "narrower" thread? According to B+W catalog, there's only one 39mm connection called 39/0.5. What about Heliopan?
They screw in and hold, but don't go all the way.
What is the common choice for a filter size for the 40 cron?
I know the original idea was to put a small filter (with no thread) between the hood and the lens. But do they make such MRC ones?
Thanks for your answers
