And what's wrong with shooting brick walls?

All this talk about the 75mm Lux Vs. Cron got me a little lighter in the pockets. I was checking several of my favorite shopping spots last night around 9pm looking for the 75mm Lux and could not find one that I could afford. I got in from work around 2am, and logged on to KEH and they just posted an EX+ 75mm summilux with caps for $2,100. I jumped on it and it looks like I got it, because I just received the shipping notice. I should have it later on today. I'm off Friday, so I'll mount it on my M3 DS and see if it will work for me. I will post a few shots when I can.

You forgot about the requirement of possessing forearms like Popeye's.

Total exaggeration, just because he uses the 75mm for nudes of Olive Oil (shudder) doesn't mean you have to have arms like his.

I don't have Popeye arms and don't need them to handle my 75mm Summilux. Actually my arms are a little on the thin side. The weight of the lens makes it sit more solidly in my hands and reduces camera jiggle. I do try to shoot 1/125 or higher with it. I love this lens. It's definitely a keeper for me. I would not walk around with the camera hanging from my neck very long, though, with the 75/1.4 fitted. For a general walkaround lens for daytime, I'm experimenting with the CV 75/2.5; but have not had it long enough to reach any conclusions.

At the LHSA annual meeting I borrowed the 75 Cron from Leica for a day. I really liked the way it handles; the weight and size are very fine for daylight work, and the lens has a better feel to it than the CV. But I haven't seen the pictures yet. I will pick up the slides later today. I have not processed the B&W yet.

I've had and occasionally used 90mm lenses for years, but I am finding the 75mm length to be more useful in more situations. That's just me. Anybody wanna trade their 75mm Cron for my 90mm AA ASPH?

i haven't used the 75 'cron, but my 'lux is, hands down, the best lens that i have even had the pleasure to own or use. my jaw still drops when i see my negs.
