Helen: I love your photographs. I have an M5 coming from Sherry (only film M I have never owned) and thinking of ordering a 50f1.1 Nokton. You seem to have that combo wired. Any comments on its handling? Would you carry the 50f1.1 as your only lens? I already have the 35f1.2 so that is the lens I will start off with on the M5.
Are you shooting TriX or something similar? Are you pushing it?
Thanks. Again, I enjoy your photos a lot.

The way the light captures the white of the eye. So cool.

Helen: Thanks for the reply. I used to shoot TriX in available darkness back in the early 1970's covering high school sports when I was a newspaper photographer. Nowadays with auto focus and ISO's through the roof, photojournalists have it so easy. I used a Nikon F and a 180f2.8, ISO whatever I could get shooting at 250th and f2.8.
I think for the next six months I am going to just shoot b&w. I have an M9 and use it for flexibility while traveling. Next trip is to the Philippines and I think color is almost necessary in the tropics but staying disciplined will be interesting.
As I said, I am waiting for a black M5 from Sherry and will initially use the 35f1.2. It seems big lenses balance well on the bigger M5. I really need to get back to my roots with TriX or even better HP5 because it dries flat. Thanks for the reply. Rich

Like the light and shadow! Sherry has promised to ship my M5 (along with the repaired M2 tomorrow). I am really trying to justify the purchase of another M film body as the M9 sits unused in the cabinet.
One of these days I will have to figure out how to post some of my stuff but not in any hurry to do that at all.

They got nothing! I actually thought the one on the left ruined the image, turns out he made it.

Yesterday, coming back home, at the airport, I asked the TSA officer that I would like to have my bag with several film containers and my M5 loaded with Delta+400 checked outside the X-ray machine. He passed on to another officer that rubbed it with something to check for something, this last officer was so nice. He told me, that is the best camera I have ever seen. He told me he was retired from imaging, and he had sold his last Hasselblad camera couple of years ago. He asked me how much I paid for it because he may want to buy one after seen this one. He was aware of the M5 and always wanted to buy one.
BTW, on my original flight, the TSA officers were also very nice when asked about checking the film separately. Good for TSA.

Nice picture, BLKRCAT!
On your picture and mine the difference between TriX and Tmax400 can clearly be seen. How do you develope your TriX? I put the Tmax400 in the Perceptol from Ilford.

I'm souping HC110b 6min at 20*, scanning with Nikon Coolscan 8000 and finishing off with lightroom then photoshop.
Quite the ordeal but its a process.
