Leica M7 with 7Artisans 50 1.1

Not half, but then maybe $300. The 50/1.1 was just the "bait" and test for recognition for 7artisans as makers of excellent lenses. Now, this company may be aiming at making some profits too. Look at how cheap the first round of CV RF lenses used to be.

You're probably right, Raid.

I see that they also have a pretty compact (?) 35/2 for Sony FE mount, maybe they will just add a M-mount to this lens?

I also think so. They have a 35/2 for FE, and it may be straightforward for them to convert such a lens to M mount. I hope that this is the case and that they don't have to design a new 35/2 for full frame.

Very interested in this lens. Thanks Raid and Huss and chambrenoir for the link).
I have two questions:
- So how difficult is it to focus the lens wide open (with M6,M5,M8.2,M9). Do you need focus assist like a 1.2x eyepiece.
- Does it need a hood and which?

You just need to be careful and methodical focusing it wide open. It is as hard or easy (take your pick!) as my Lux Asph 1.4 or Sonnar 1.5. Calibration has been perfect on my M7 and M240. I have not tried it on my M5 yet.

I have the Leica 1.4 magnifier but gave up using it a long time ago. I did not find that it helped focus accuracy and this bore out in testing the 1.1 on my M240. My accuracy was the same w/ or w/out the magnifier. The rf base length is more important.
I also stopped using the magnifier because I hated the way it sticks out and pokes me in the eye! Just not comfortable to use.

Does anyone know why this would not be able to be mounted on an M2?
The listings I can find do not include it in their description.

Has anyone tried it on an M2?
