It does not have the same impact in English at it does in Spanish. But translated it would mean "From your balls forward" A very exagerated version of Damn!

Goodnight Everyone
Hey Sean, Jorge and Wes,
It was really fun chatting. I love this site and I think it's great that people take the time to even make it happen. It's late for me now (11:30pm) but it's light out of the window as we approach Europe....weird. Sean, thanks for the heads-up on LR and the DNG's (wish they'd add a simple email feature instead of having to do it through the 'Print' method but that's another story).
Hope to find you all online soon.

I run my own Voiceover Agency by myself, my wife is a Trademark Attorney at Alston & Bird, and we have two children, 11 and 9. My family is my greatest blessing, but it seems as if we, like most of you, are always on the go.
This forum and the Leica Users forum are a great outlet for me. I really enjoy the posts I read from each and every one of you.
When I was younger, and had more time to use my cameras, I was a pretty decent photgrapher who was lucky enough to have a Leica. Of course there were many times I was not smart with my money and had to sell equipment in order to make ends meet.
I no longer have the time to use my Leicas as much as I would like, but that has not lessened my passion for Leica. To be a part of this group is an honor.
I am certain that the M8 will be a wonderful camera to own and use. I am also certain that my Film Leicas will wind up in a display case.
Will the M8 be perfect? No. Mankind is imperfect, and as such we are incapable of producing something perfect.
For years, most of us have waited for a digital M. It is here, and from all I can see and read, Leica has done a bang up job given the price vs perfomance vs features compromises the company had to deal with. Many of you will nitpick. Take my advice and enjoy the camera when you get it. There will be things, as individuals, you may or may not like, but ultimately, you will have a great photographic tool on which you can use all of your great Leica M or other M mount lenses.
Thank you.

RLMAO! - Well, I see many in the beginning were thinking "del plato a la boca..."; I'll stay tuned for the exciting conclusion of this cojonuda saga.

Well said; although I disagree with the "display case" part (most of them already are there), but I firmly believe the film Leicas will keep on going beyond our grandchildren's generation.rsh said:I am certain that the M8 will be a wonderful camera to own and use. Perfection is so boring; nice, and is a goal to achieve, but since nobody's perfect (except a few anointed ones, I guess) we'll have to make do with whatever is closest to it.
So sad to confine oneself to a very defined circle, and point that anything outside the circle is wrong. Those inside the film-only circle and the digital-only circle are missing out on the rest of the real-estate.

You make a valid point. I do believe film Leicas will continue, but in smaller numbers.

At least for as long as the LTM bodies ran concurrently with the M3 I suppose. After that I think A La Carte only.

Welcome to Europe, Charlie
Enjoy your stay and I am looking forward to see the result of your shooting when published!
Do you know witch magazine it will be – LFI or Leica World?

I'm curious to know just exactly how you've "opened hundres of M8 DNG files" seeing as it was only yesterday that everyone was complaining that there weren't any to be found anywhere.
Sean had a pre-release M8 quite some time ago and is an experienced reviewer with a very high level of integrity. I value and trust his judgement.

M8 and Noctilux
M8 and Noctilux
"Charlie"
Couple of quick questions. The image of you with the Leica (probably M7) on your official site is that a Noctilux mounted to it?
I just got the noct a couple of weeks ago and I am loving it on my M6 and I'm very eager to try it out on the M8. If that is the Noctilux, have you had a chance to try it on the M8? I think all the noct fans are hoping that the lens fingerprint carries through to digital.

So, I guess the M8 has Charlie's seal of approval. (Oh, that's bad, but I couldn't resist)

*sigh*
Charlie and everyone, I'd just like to say that you're all even making ME think of how nice it would be to have an M8.
Of course, the cost is a bit more than I paid for my car...or even the downpayment on my house for that matter. More than a little out of my price range to say the least!
I'll just have to shoot vicariously, I guess.
That or win the lottery

Jorge, take it your the translation expert and final word here.
Is the word Ascender an Americanism for an "escalator' as in a department store, a 'paternoster' as in an office, or a 'lift' as in an hotel.
What is commonly known in UK slang as a 'send-up' ??
If I need to explain the 'English' English definition of a 'send-up', please don't hesitate to ask.
Sorry for interrupting your aperitif.

No, it's simple american english meaning "one who ascends"...ascend meaning "to go upward" or "to rise above" among other similar meanings.
In other languages I couldn't say.
go go dictionary.com! (sarcasm aside)
